Re: "Walking Dead" Cable Series

That was the best season premiere they've had in years. I'm more excited about the show than I've been since Negan was introduced with that dumbass cliffhanger.

Re: The world's most ridiculous bug out gear!

Did you see that doc? I think it was Vice. About the guy that stockpiles Tesla parts and rebuilds and fixes them? Tesla has a real hard time sharing info with mechanics. They want only their dealerships to work on their cars. There's an antiquated idea huh?! lol! Tesla doesn't have dealerships. How...

Re: Before You Get Out of Your Car

The Five Rules of Taxi Driving, as taught to me by my trainer many years ago, also have some application in the non-cab world: Know where you are. Know where you are going. Now that we have GPS and Google Maps, there is no excuse not to look up where you're going before you set out. (It was paper ma...

Re: Stranger Things 1 and 2

His vehicle and most of his police gear are also anachronisms. I try not to let it get in the way of the show. I'm not good at identifying model years just by looking at vehicles, but I know that there were Chevy Blazers that looked pretty much like Hopper's in 1982-1984. What about the rest of his...

Re: Traps

It wouldn't even have to be a terribly complicated trap. Dig a big pit. Set up your boom box. Go check every few days and bring a few gallons of diesel to set them on fire, which will eventually kill them and keep them from piling up so much that new ones can climb out.

Re: Stranger Things 1 and 2

I love both seasons. Two things bother me. 1. Barb got a raw deal. I will avoid posting spoilers, but I'm happy to discuss it via PM. 2. Chief Hopper's knife is an anachronism. There were no half-serrated folders with thumb studs in the early 1980s. He should have a Buck 110 or maybe a SAK or Barlow.

A 9mm Beretta Px4 Storm. It would also be fun to have one of those Henry .45-70 lever guns.

Re: So, how are you keeping your pants up when carrying?

FWIW, I'm not exactly svelte and I carry OWB with a Spec Ops Better Than BDU belt. I've never, ever, had an issue with the belt coming loose on its own. When I had a couple pairs of jeans that would not stay up because they were made for people with no butt, I used a pair of Perry suspenders that ho...

It's the area of the hurricane that surrounds the eye, where the storm is most destructive. Here's a video of a plane flying through one:

It looks like the next pistol I buy will be a 9mm Beretta Px4 Storm. Is there any reason not to? I'd like to know whether I'm going to make a mistake. Re: SAS sniper takes out ISIS sniper 1.5 miles away

Because the ISIS guy was a "sniper" I doubted he was moving around while sniping. Sure enough, the story said: "Just as the light was beginning to fade the (ISIS) gunman moved into what he thought was a safe location and lifted his rifle up into his shoulder before the SAS (sniper) shot him dead." ...

Re: SAS sniper takes out ISIS sniper 1.5 miles away

I know squat about being a sniper. Three seconds is a long time. How can a sniper be sure that the person they're aiming at won't move?
