Agreed. It's a bit grainy, but the mag release appears to be horizontal, indicating a rubber duck. Was thinking it might be Airsoft, but those are usually correct, iirc.

On "The Simpsons", you hear Moe racking a pump shotgun, then they show him with a double barrel coach gun.

22lr is about the only thing still in panic mode around here, though specfic powders can be difficult to get. Stocking up on mags for personal use is probably not a bad idea, I'm not sure they'll be going sky high in the next panic like they did the last one. Too many people have mega-stockpiles of ...

Trying to envision a "tactical mag swap", or changing magazines under stress. Looks like it'd be a pain in the butt under ideal conditions. Also require gargantuan new mag pouches. Yikes.

Re: Firearms Chat 3: #pewpewlife

I loved the array of responses I've gotten complaining about the gap on a few forums. My options are as follows: "Just stick an ear plug in there."-Total cost, under ten cents, I have several rolling around my range bag. "Purchase the 'gapper', it's a world renowned product that has changed my life...

Re: Firearms Chat 3: #pewpewlife

Perfect timing, my hardware-brand electronic muffs messed with my cheek weld all weekend at a carbine course and I was debating getting the HLs solely based on the thinner profile. For indoor ranges I do Surefires under my electronic set, for this outdoor course I risked just the soft plugs because...

I like being able to see my 5.56 bullet holes at 100 yds without a separate spotter scope, okay?

Granted, with an NcStar, they'd likely be rather blurry.

I actually stopped buying guns and now only buy parts and build them these days. Built another lower yesterday and have both a .223/5.56 and 300 bo upper to finish building as soon as my upper vice block arrives. Went with the flat dark earth look for the .223/5.56 but since the 300 bo is for my fa...

Saw an AMT 1911 Hardballer at the LGS. WANT. Did a quick Google search-don't want it anymore, at least at the asking price. Some other nice 1911s there for not much more, probably use part of my tax refund on one. I'm thinking stainless, maybe a 9mm with the 22TCM conversion kit. Don't blame you......

Re: Firearms Chat 3: #pewpewlife

Nice. Took my SlideFire AR out to my buddy's farm to try some changes. Mostly, last weekend I drilled out the gas port to 7/64" and used some larger bits to counter sink the port and make it less sensitive to gas block alignment. Probably not a big deal, but I figured it might come in handy if I dec...

An optic mount for pistols that clamps onto the foreend rail, wraps around top, and provides a picatinny rail up top to mount a scope or RDS. I should add the qualifiers "decent quality" and "reasonably priced". I picked up a couple from Keepshooting.com for $20 each, and for that price I can't comp...

Re: firearm accessories that you want that are not on the ma

I'd like to see a AR-15 dust cover that closes after each shot. I don't think it'd be to difficult. Remove the detent and add a spring that holds the cover shut. You'd still need a bump that the carrier would knock into to open. I believe I'm going to ponder this a minute. Remove the detent ball an...

Couple of threads about these in the Retro AR15/M16 section of AR15.com. They might be able to lead you in the correct direction, and the retro section is usually more civil than General Discussion.

Re: New Ruger Mini in .300blk

Well, it starts with thinking about getting a Mini14 in 300BLK, and that lasts until you realize how much more versatile an AR is. That's what I say. If it isn't an AR15 or a Glock, then I don't need it. I'm part of the Neighborhood Tactical Response Force (we meet at the local fire hall for traini...

Re: New Ruger Mini in .300blk

Almost like a sign... I just bought a box of 300 Blackout, mostly as a collector item from a small ammunition company that I like. But if Ruger could get their pricing structure in line, I might have to snag a Mini and order more ammo. Yeah, the chances of that are pretty much nil. Guess I'll keep w...

Hitting an orange with a handgun at 30m is good shooting in my book. I think a lot of people exaggerate their skill with a pistol, pistols, at least in my experience, are really hard to master. Well normally I'm a paper plate at 10 yards kinda guy... "good enough for who it's for". So I decided to ...

Around here, there seems to be a limitless supply of used Maverick 88's in the $125-$165 range. You could spend that much on a decent budget red dot sight.

Damn this thread. I'm going to be picking up a police surplus Smith and Wesson and competing with it solely to try and beat guys running modern guns with it. Looking at a Model 64 (It's a stainless model 10), some speedloaders, and some kind of usable holster. Also, I need a cowboy hat. Do it right...
