Re: Cold pack activating itself

It may not have been pressure that did it.

I had a cold pack burst open while lying out by itself and the contents went everywhere. I make sure to keep them in plastic bags now in case they spontaneously burst.

One year on cash reserves.

Another year or two if I sell off spare sports cars.

15-20 years if I start selling stuff accumulated from hobbies.

By then, I suppose I'd be ready to live out of one house instead of three.

Re: What have you bought in the last 48 hours?(firearms rela

At least your rare "collector gun" fetish should be sated for a while. That's some nice hardware. You would think it would, but I just bought another 38 firearms, with 23 of them being handguns. They ranged from a Ruger American ($450) to a Wilson Combat Supergrade ($4800). I'm now up to 270 handgu...

If only it were that easy to buy a 9mm automatic! Then I'd be swimming in Glock 18s.

For those that liked the movie, there is an animated prequel called Seoul Station that details events leading up to Train to Busan.

I think 5 minutes is being generous. If he edited himself and stayed focused, he had about 3 minutes of content.

Madoka: Are you a distance walker or jogger? Your math is even weaker than mine and that's a finger and toes limitation. Walking 20 miles in 6 hours is an avg. of 5.7mph , without ANY stops. I'm a lifelong distance walker. On a good day, in cool, clear weather, with a light breeze, my current best ...

Re: Critique echo83's Get Home Bag

The average person walks at 3 mph across a flat surface (depending on height/weight and other factors), so it's closer to a 7 hour walk already...adding in time for occasionally stopping to stretch, scratch your balls, eat a snack, drink some water, deal with an obstacle, whatever, it's likely to g...

Re: Critique echo83's Get Home Bag

Madoka, 20 miles really isn't that long of a walk if you HAVE to walk it correct, but I think many throw some food and other supplies in a GHB because you never know if something will be in the way and your have to make a detour. Maybe you also have somebody traveling with you, my wife just doesn't...

Re: Critique echo83's Get Home Bag

I said this before and I'll say it again, a lot of preppers are mistaken about the purpose of a GHB. 20 miles = 6 hours of walking assuming you don't have any disabilities. Walk more briskly, then it's 3.5 hours. If you're capable of jogging, it's 2 hours back home. In that short period of time, you...
