Especially the dried food being useless bit.
Maybe no way to catch the water? One of the most important starting preps IMHO is a way to collect and store water.

[ Honestly don't make your decision solely based on ammo availability. With a stroke of a politicians pen, cheap overseas 7.62x39 can disappear, and an AK could be just as expensive to shoot as an M1 carbine. Already happening, Russian ammo won't be imported soon. There's plenty of x39 already not ...

Re: Are you prepped for a national power outage?
Depending on how long term the outage is I guess. We have generators for emergency power, Mainly for winter weather or extremely hot weather. But could do without in a pinch as we have kerosene heaters for heat if we need them and enough fuel to last a few months. a couple of smaller solar set ups w...

Still not a great price but better than it's been in a long time. Still a limit of 2 boxes. So I went in and got a couple. Saw they had the wise f...

Depends on which one. Outside our BIL we have a primary BOL as well as 3 alternate ones. Unless someone decides to set up a tent at the primary I can't see an issue there as the odds of someone locating what's there is pretty well imposible. Even my family (other than the wife) doesn't even know wha...

While not a fan of any "one size (type) fits all" product, something is better than nothing I guess. While I myself would want only about 1/2 of the items on your content list because the rest really don't fit my needs it may be almost perfect for someone else. While I have no knowledge about some o...

I think a 50bmg would be super duper low on my list of survival goods, but if it's the end of the world or Red Dawn or something it could have its place, mostly as an anti material rifle. Yeah not to mention heavy as he## and expensive to shoot. Several years ago I bought a Barrett .50 from a frien...

If you look for a local recycler/metals dealer you can generally buy wheel weights, and other scrap lead. There is ample lead supply available; Lead is fairly common mineral deposit. The problem is the environmental issues associated with producing it. I have a friend that owns a chain of local tir...

The thing to remember about mercs is that they only work as long as they're getting paid, and so long as the compensation is worth the danger. If I were gonna hire security, I'd wanna make sure they could do something besides just shoot. Agreed plus by description MOST "mercaneries" will work for a...
