Re: Australian Wild Fires

Hey, is there any sort of relief fund set up that those of us in the US can donate to?

I know the Australian Red Cross has the Victorian Bushfire Appeal 2009 page up but is that something Americans can donate to?

Yeah, and I really doubt that would happen right now. We're, for all intents and purposes, between presidents and the US military's already fighting on multiple fronts.

Just out of curiosity TacRac, since you dislike the whole entire region and all, why do you include an asterisk in the word JEW and not in the word MUSLIM?

Re: Israel kills 205 in air assault on Gaza Strip

just J*ws. The reason I used the * is I do not care for them nor that general region, they cause us American's too much trouble. So basically you dislike an entire group of people based on their religion and/or ethnicity. That's nice. I remember how earlier in this thread you accused most Americans...

Re: Israel kills 205 in air assault on Gaza Strip

[skirting the NO POLITICS RULE]Neither side is without fault but the fact of the matter is that Israel, if left alone, would probably bomb nobody. Hamas is the aggressor here. That said, I'm sure it sucks beyond belief to be a Palestinian right now. I have no idea what I would do if I were a civilia...

Re: Gun or Car?

Definitely the car. It's a 3 hour highway drive to my family's BOL. Taking back roads, it'd be longer. Being November, I don't really see myself making it there on foot with just the clothes on my back. If I had a fully loaded BOB and was dressed properly, I might opt for the gun. Given the confines...

Take off my seat belt. Roll down the window if I can. Bail out.

We've got manual windows. If they jam for any reason, I'll use the hammer/axe in the glove compartment to break out.

Oh. I might check and see if TFB's okay too.

Maybe.

Re: working on my BOB..anyone have any feelings on kelty?

I like Kelty quite a bit. I've got 2 of their internal frame backpacks and couldn't be happier with either of them. Also, don't be afraid to price-shop online. I got both my Keltys brand new at $50 less than they retail for. One I picked up on Amazon and the other I bought on sale from Sierra Tradin...

I don't know. Most surplus stores I've seen carry *real* MREs for $5 each. And that's up here in Ohio, even. Down in Texas, close to an Army base, it was more like $3.

Just adding something to all YT said... If someone's actively trying to ditch you, just let them go. I was walking through a mall once when some guy I'd never seen before in my life came up along side me and just started chatting. Because I'm polite, and was even more polite a few years ago than I a...

His response was 'I like to fuck with people. So sorry if I felt the need to be a voice of reason and shut down someone else that is just trying to fuck with people that are making huge decisions." I talked to TFB on his lunch break. According to him, that comment was actually made about IRC chat a...

Re: Discussion on avoiding kidnap/rape

Six o clock this morning, a local businessman was robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot of the store where I work. The thieves attempted to abduct the man but he refused to go with them and they must have decided he wasn't worth the fight. Just wanted to remind some of the male ZS-ers here that they...
