I would ask the dentist about the pain, I have had several root canals and never needed pain meds much less Vicodin. Maybe something went wrong?

RG-14. Those things are overpriced at free. I think 1911's are fine. I mean, I would not take one over my Glock, and have seen and fired some really bad ones, but my Sig TacOps eats everything I feed it and makes .45 caliber holes all day. Its also the most accurate pistol I own, in my hands, outsid...

Taco holsters hold multi tools and lights really well. Two pouches in black would not look weird on most belts in public, and would work very well.

Point out that the less people who know, the better. Also I would not let him in on your own prep level because he seems to have others going wild on what he has and the like, which means he would discuss you. At the same time people who are big type A people like being in charge. Do you really see ...

I have this one: http://www.benchmade.com/products/5000 Its neat. Its fun to open and close with the auto, but its never come open when I didn't want it too. The grips actually make it not so fun as a pocket knife because they shred your knuckles when you reach past it in your pocket, but that is of...

Re: Slide release vs overhand rack WITH A HUGE SLIDE RELEASE
I am guilty of using the slide release a lot in the range and practice, but my training has always told me to rack it, because its quick and hard to mess up, gross motor skills and all. Some guns have easier slide releases than others. Some slide releases seem like you need a TON of thumb strength t...

I am not. It would be silly to tr and engage multiable rifle armed shooters with a pistol. I would try and get me and my loved ones out of the area.

Re: Talk me out of a revolver
I love Ruger Revolvers.
The SP101 (I have 3 variants right now) and the GP100 are both awesome guns.
A smaller revolver appendix carried is super concealable and easy to wear in anything.
I think small revolvers make fine concealed carry guns.

Re: NO body armour for me
My thoughts, The more you carry of something means the less you carry of another item. Is body armor worth the extra weight as compared to other items that could be carried instead? My first thoughts is no. It depends on the likely hood of need VS the other things I could be carrying. Why do you ca...

Glock does have safeties. http://us.glock.com/technology/safe-action There are also double stacked 1911s, https://thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=484295 Low velocity stuff could be used for races/competition. Weight does have a value when it comes to Whack factor. On safeties, IMHO, the o...

Re: NO body armour for me
I wear IIIA soft body armor, it's not that bad. It's not nearly as heavy as you'd think (about five pounds) and if properly fitted, doesn't restrict movement a whole lot. Beats the hell out of being perforated with 9mm bullets. It is expensive, and the idea of wearing used seems.... Gross. (Trust m...

Re: Marines Get to Pick Glocks in Preference to to 1911s.
It makes sense. Glocks hold up really well, and don't have as many problems as some other pistols do in harsh environments. And they are easy enough to get off-the-shelf parts for. Besides, they are available all over the world at this point. It isn't like they are meant to be a primary arm for the...

Re: $300 budget gun: EAA vs Ruger
CDNN has a Sig P226 police trade in for $399. Since Internet guns are tax free, its not to much more than the ones listed, and CDNN is usually very good in terms of dealing with and buying from. If you call them and ask them to pick you a nice one from the lot they probs will. It's a worlds better g...

Re: How Effective is the Machete as a Weapon?
Cold Steel makes a gladius machete that is pretty damn cool for the price. It's about as pure "fight" as they come. I saw the Gladius Machete at Academy sports on clearance and picked it up. Its really massive. And while its a bad Machete, I would not want to fight someone wielding one. The edges n...
