I'm gonna jump on the "If I am gonna spend 1200 on a rifle, I'll get one in a better caliber from a better manufacturer." I can't help but compare it to pimping out a Yugo.

I have the Voodoo Tactical Praetorian rifle pack. I haven't had a chance to field test it, but it seems cool just messing with it around the house. https://www.google.com/search?q=voodoo+tactical+praetorian&client=firefox-a&hs=LP1&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=_tugUvuF...

I'd love to have one to keep my M1A NM company. As somebody else mentioned, the machining looks rough, but if it functions and groups well, I'd snatch one up!

Both have had recalls, I haven't shot the Shield, but I love my XDs 9. Comfortable, accurate, and easy to conceal.

Thanks for the link, I know that growing up my dad always cut as much Madrone as he could. It made up the majority of our firewood.

Madrone is very popular in my neck of the woods. Can be tough to split though.

Re: When the "system" starts eating the pieces...

I remember reading about fires in NY back in the 1800's burning in the background while "volunteer" fire brigades fought amongst themselves to see who could fight the fire. No thanks

Not a chance I would pay this bill.

Re: Stuff you found or rediscovered!

A few days ago I found 3 15 rd magazines for my CZ75 B in a Glock pistol box. I had been wondering what happened to them, I guess I must have put them in there when I moved a few years ago.

I got a guy who wants to trade me a 1982 Kawasaki 440 Ltd for my PSA AR. Any thoughts? No, but like I told Kube in CHAT about his bike: The bike is more than thirty years old, and so is all the rubber, fluids, seals, brakes, shocks, lines, clutches…you know, all that stuff that keeps the bile from ...

Re: Firearms Chat: Stipple that, home edition

So here is the "Colt Survival Rifle" I was talking about. I went back to Wally World today and asked about it, apparently its the "Gun of the Month" and for 1699.00 it comes with everything in this pic. Nice rifle, but seems like a gimmick. http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg44/Carnage5150/IMG_145...

Re: Firearms Chat: Stipple that, home edition

I've got one of those Kim-pro tac mags and I have to load it with just 7 rounds otherwise it's a pain to get fully seated in my 1911. Hmm, I've only used them with my Springfield. I don't have any experience using them with other brands of 1911's. Well, my 1911 is a Rock Island Armory model so that...

Re: Firearms Chat: Stipple that, home edition

Ok, so I'll skip the USGI mags and grab some Chip McCormack and Wilson mags then. Probably easier to find in my AO anyway. The one good surplus store I was able to find that had USGI mags closed a year or so back. I've had great results with McCormick, Wilson, and Kim-pro Tac mags. I also like the ...

Re: Firearms Chat: Stipple that, home edition

So today I was in my local Super Wally World and saw what looked like a Colt 6920 Magpul edition with some sort of free floating rail on it advertised as "Colt Survival Rifle" price tag was 1,599.97. I did a google search and found nothing really resembling it anywhere. Anyone have more info?
