Re: Global Debt Time Bomb explodes soon
I know several people who have or plan to get loans for credit card bills. They could save money with lower interest, but I am leery of incurring debt to pay debt.

I wanted an El Camino for a while. I almost bought one, but I couldn't meet the seller at the right time. Later I had more money, so I could have bought one rodded, but I wanted more mpg then and bought a Corolla. Now, any small pickup is close enough, but even that is harder to get now. I've had en...

Yesterday after reading a book I noticed my emergency blanket on the shelf next to my recliner. I tested it by having a nap under it. With more practice and a big table maybe I could refold it small enough to fit in the package.

Lots of things have metal, which I might remember after the beep. I eventually realized the zipper is metal. I did not think of my eyeglass hinges until much later.

Biting Or Drinking
Biting and chewing require teeth, which zombies may not have without dental maintenance. A more evolved zombie could inject digestive venom to liquify the flesh for slurping.

I bought a cast iron pan. I don't often think about dishes, but I was passing through a kitchen department. I saw cast iron and remembered reading something about that. If I never learn how to season and cook in it, I can still use it for home defense.

If guns were in my preps, I'd want to know how to make ammo. Without that knowledge, they don't seem worth the money or weight in a BOB. Something that holds only one cartridge would give me time to think about ammo conservation while I reload.

I drove for years before realizing I should have a fuel can in the vehicle. Someone was begging for money for both the container and fuel to fill up. I gave her what I could spare for the service of helping me realize I should get one before it's necessary instead of after.

Some local carpeters were put out of work by lack of carpets sent, so they walked around offering to shovel sidewalks. I could have taken the offer, but after shoveling so many times, accepting hired help seemed like quitting. Now it's snowing again. I should have asked for a business card.

Under the Kitchen Counter
Many kitchen cabinets have items that are shoved to the back and never seen again until the landlord or exterminator gets down and shines a light in there. One standard but expensive solution is rollout shelves on tracks, like filing cabinets. Those require special hardware and construction. One alt...

I thought some sort of riser would be a standard part of the luggable loo kit. Buckets are too low for me and many other people with joint problems, long legs, etc. I could put something under the bucket, or put the bucket under a commode chair.

A big part of water conservation is reuse. What goes down the sink you can keep in a tank to flush the toilet. Another tank of flushed water keeps your lawn healthy. There are other steps that can be squeezed in there, for washing dishes, bathing, etc. Theoretically you can use the same water foreve...
