Re: A way of quantifying some of the intangibles.

There is a useful technique to trying to quantify the intangibles. It works in so many different situations. Restate the premise, but in reverse. eg: I'll pay you fifty bucks if you will promise me, for the next year, to eat a sketchy combination of drugs and chemicals that might give you cancer, o...

Re: I don't think this is an imminent threat

::adjusts tin foil hat and steps on soapbox:: Honestly in my opinion, here in the states we are at a VERY low risk, these releases happen because fear controls us. Look what happened right after 9/11, we let fear get in the way of sensibility and shitty laws got passed, this is no different. The me...

Re: Black bear suspected of killing hiker in NJ

In a related story: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2014/09/30/minn-hunter-armed-only-with-knife-kills-525-pound-black-bear-during-mauling/ A Minnesota man managed to kill a 525-pound black bear with a knife after the injured bear attacked a group of hunters early Saturday morning. However, I doubt the S...

Last week I got a box of 325 Federal AutoMatch for $17.99 from Cabelas website. Free ship-to-store. Just picked it up over the weekend. They didn't have any .22lr in-stock in the store, though, when I was there.

I severely doubt the baseless speculation of furthest-extreme, paranoid even, malicious intent to be of any value to the current situation. I don't know...It's entertaining, at the least, so there has to be some sort of value associated with it. Otherwise, there wouldn't be any readers of this topi...

Re: Ebola in West Africa

If you're taking gloves off correctly you never touch the outside. You touch the outside of the first one with your other, gloved hand, and take it off. Then you ball it up in the palm of the gloved hand, slide your bare finger inside the other glove, and take that one off inside out, so you make a...

I have a 9mm Shield and an XDS 45,my XDS will shoot circles around my Shield. The XDS is also a lot easier to field strip for cleaning. What does "shoot circles around" mean? Your XDS is more accurate than the Shield? At what distance? Its a paraphrase of "run circles around". http://idioms.thefree...

Re: Global Debt Time Bomb explodes soon

Grocery price stats are misleading because they fail to take into consideration the fact that packaging weights/volumes have slowly reduced over the years. A "quart" of mayo is often 28-30 oz and a "gallon" of ice cream can be as small as 3 quarts now. Coffee,of course, hasn't been a pound for many ...
