Re: Thick, heavy wool blend socks
These are definitely quite nice for the price but for my shape of foot they do not fit as well as Smartwool. I can't comment on their longevity as I donated mine.

Re: Thick, heavy wool blend socks
I only wear Smartwool socks and have several different weights. They do eventually wear out, been wearing them for over a decade. I have five or six pairs of these extra heavyweight ones, not quite as thick as what you describe but these should not disappoint you. http://www.smartwool.com/shop/men-s...

Re: $300+ gloves?!! Seriously?!
I have an inexpensive pair of gloves from Walmart/Target/Kmart/I don't recall where I bought them that I bought on a day that was cold and I needed warm gloves. They do not work as well as a much more expensive name brand pair that I have nor are they as comfortable or as natural to wear. As far as ...

Re: Keychain Flashlights
For those that might be interested in either a Titan or Titan Plus, here are mine side by side. Titan is noticeably lighter and is my Keychain light. The Plus is my briefcase light. I haven't had the Plus long enough to test it much http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v635/b9ev/Mobile%20Uploads/201612...

Re: Useful office supplies in a pocket organizer
That wrench is a neat idea, I will have to think about it. Currently on the to add list are: cash, individual benadryl (I had a food allergy happen at Costco this week, mangos were in a sample), extra battery(bonus because my Keychain light uses same size), and duct tape. Here is a picture of most o...

I was looking at that exact Stanley on Amazon but it was an add on only item and wouldn't ship with the stuff that qualified for prime.
Cardboard and tape isn't a bad idea to make a pocket.

Re: Useful office supplies in a pocket organizer
Great ideas! Not necessarily limited to office items, but items that are useful to have. I added a couple of binder clips, nitrile gloves, a mask, sterile alcohol wipes, Clorox disinfecting wipes, and hand sanitizer. I will have to add some bandages when I get home, I don't have any here at the offi...

Useful office supplies in a pocket organizer
I have decided to integrate a Maxpedition EDC Pocket Organizer into my briefcase. The reason for this is because I use a Pelican laptop case as a briefcase and it doesn't have any pockets. Briefcase itself has paperwork, business cards, and an iPad. I take it with me to meetings and other work relat...

I have multiple Surefire p2x lights and they are fantastic. I also have one Surefire p3x and while the brightest it isnt as convenient for a pocket with 3 cr123 batteries.

Glock 17 for 400-450 and an inexpensive AR with the remainder. Spend 2/3 to 3/4 of the ammo money on 5.56 and the remainder on 9mm.

Re: Finnally A V8 Small Block American Diesel
I thought I recalled you had quite a few mods. My current truck does have studs replaced as well. Very curious about your impressions on single turbo. And quite honestly, there are tanks that are single digits due to poor driving habits of mine. Mine has always had the best of everything. Studded, d...

Re: Finnally A V8 Small Block American Diesel
I am not sure about your situation but my 6.4 is about a half mpg from hand calculating. My parent's (used to be mine) is similar. Same with the different newish gas motors I have owned. I think the lie o meter is a thing of the past. Edit: both trucks have deleted dpf and egr. One has an H&S, the o...

Re: Finnally A V8 Small Block American Diesel
The pump doesn't account for the difference in volume due to temperature. Also the amount of pressure to stop the pump varies from pump to pump, station to station. I can't speak for all makes but for the last decade or so computers on Ford, Porsche, and Honda have been within a half mpg of hand cal...

Re: Finnally A V8 Small Block American Diesel
I can't speak for all makes but for the last decade or so computers on Ford, Porsche, and Honda have been within a half mpg of hand calculating. I almost think the computer is more accurate. Hand calculating doesn't account for a lot of variables whereas the computer has to know exactly what is goin...

Re: Colt Series 80 AND FMJ? I can't, I just cant
You are correct that ball ammo isn't as good in many situations. Btw, do you still work for nypd? I carry a 1911 daily with 230 grain doubletap jhp ammo. I love 1911s and I have a lot of other options to choose from. Oh no you don't. The load was clearly specified as BALL. Not Zombie Max or Remingto...

I own both the 20oz and 30oz. They work as advertised for both hot and cold but the best part about them is the ease of cleaning. No places for bacteria to hide.

Can't wait to have my truck back. A service tech at a national chain screwed up and it lead to a motor failure on it. Kind of pissed because after the new motor gets placed in it, I have to do the egr delete again. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v635/b9ev/Mobile%20Uploads/20151113_165049_zpsnfdg8...

Re: My Adventure with the blizzard this morning.
I am glad that you made it back home safe, my friend was visiting her parents in Clovis and I saw pictures of 15 foot drifts against their buildings. I had to travel from Albuquerque to Santa Fe that Sunday morning to cover a critical shift that began at 6am with a 4:30am notice (employee called out...
