Re: State of Decay

I dont know if making this game into an MMO would carry over well. I guess it would depend on how they do it. I am just thinking, 3,000 players on a server running around on the map would make it pretty dang boring. Possibly if they made it like Red Dead Redemption's multiplayer system. Or allow peo...

Re: Fallout 4......

I agree, but there have been rumbles that this project has been in the works for years already... Still nothing on E3, Microsoft sure got smacked down hard by sony yesterday evening. And I was a 360 user before I made the switch to PC... I first heard about Fallout 4 just before Fallout NV was rele...

Sorry about the pink sock. Chicks mostly don't survive that. What breed of hens did you get? Brought to you by Cyberdyne Systems We got four different breeds... I know there are Rhode Island Reds, easter eggers, Orpingtons, and .. uh .. one other one. :) The wife picked them out, she did all the re...

Re: Anyone watch Sons of Guns

I like Sons of Guns. But I like when they build the weapons. I like learning the various aspects of it. The technical side. As for the drama.... meh. I couldnt care less about that part. One reason I like it is when Will Hayden talks. My grandmother was part cajun/creole from that area. And he says ...

Get 20 acres of land with a well at least 1 hour from the nearest big city preferrably with a creek. Surround it in firethorn hedges and a 2 feet cement snake wall. Then add several shipping containers and turn them into homes (I love the Forge House designs), storage sheds, rabbit house, chicken co...

Also understand how special the passengers were on board flight 93. Re: Earl - Backcountry Survival Tablet

I would rather spend $149 on a proper android tablet like the Hisense Sero 7 Pro. Then I got a color screen and can put what I want on it. There are apps for damn near everything. As for the solar you can get a charger cheap for a tablet PC. Add a protective case too. For me its more like building y...

I hope its Fallout 4. Been waiting for it so long. But will have to play it on PC and not console. Since the Xbox One is going to have Kinect integrated and you cant disable it. I am not going to have a webcam sitting in my living room always turning on and connected to the internet. Just waiting to...

Re: Tornados in the Midwest--anyone witness these?

Oklahoma is overpopulated, like most of that region. If building enough tornado shelters for everyone is too difficult or too expensive, in Tornado Alley, then it's time to GTFO. Resilience is a fine quality, but I'd rather see news about people moving to safer and more livable climates than news a...

Re: Tornados in the Midwest--anyone witness these?

Perhaps my east coast ignorance, but do most public buildings in KS,OK, etc have tornado shelters? I was trying to remember back to my time at Ft Sill, and I seem to recall that places on post had designated areas but not exactly underground shelters. Some do. Most schools don't, due to costs. My 6...

37 confirmed dead in the whole area. And up to 51. They local news (watching KFOR) says this is at least 3 times as big as the storm in 1999, and the area is way more built up than it was at that time. 36 died in the May 3rd. 1999 tornado. So far we are up to 51 people and a lot more being found. s...

If a female ( or male ) lets say the size of my ex, 5'3' 118 lbs, is confronted by a guy say my size 6'2" 195. will her black belt training assure her a take down hit before the ...

As a veteran of the old Counterstrike (pre 6.0 beta) forums I can understand the No Politics, Religion, or Illegal rule. But at the sametime I am torn about it. Politics does directly affect disasters and disaster relief. Since this site, to me, is supposed to be about education in prepping its limi...

When I was a boy, we had to do tornado, fire, and nuclear drills all the time. I am guessing its about time to start doing armed gunman drills in schools. Personally I told my daughter if an armed man ever comes into her classroom, run like the wind. even if she has to run through the guy.... just r...

Re: What preparations have you made for the non-disaster?

I think Raptor brought up a very interesting point. Some people long for a PAW. I dont think the majority of them long for a PAW as much as they long for the control in their lives they dont have now. Because we have less control in our lives then we think we do. Look at me. I work in a grocery stor...
