Re: Re: Re: Mosin Nagant Range Day?

See, while I too might call a Mosin "stupidly accurate", I think while we are using the same words we've got very different meanings in mind. Hey, if yours doesn't hit the target, it most likely isn't the rifle. I can put steel on target every time at any range with mine. But then I've been shootin...

Re: Mosin Nagant Range Day?

Glad to see so many people on here into the Mosins. I bought mine about a year ago. The gun store by my house had a dozen or so of them and I figured for only $125, I couldn't go wrong. Ammo is only $9 per 20, so its cheap to shoot. I found it to be stupidly accurate. Came with the bayonet, two orig...

Re: Re: Steel jacketed ammo

Mosins are famous for that problem, but a thorough scrubbing of the chamber tends to clear it up. I have the same issue with my Mosin. Mostly after the rifle gets heated up from shooting a few rounds. Regardless, it is a stupidly accurate rifle. I like mine and for $125, you can't go wrong. Sent fr...

Re: Re: Steel jacketed ammo

I've got it in ziploc bags since I figured that would help it keep longer than just the case it came in. I'll look into some of those descicant packets. If you can't find descicant packs where you are, put teaspoon or so of white rice in each ziploc bag. Or use the descicant packs out of medicine b...

Thanks for all the great stuff, guys! I'm starting to get into the history of the "wild west" so to speak... You can have a lot of fun with cowboy action shooting. Check out the single action shooting society's website. Some pretty cool stuff. There website is also a good place to get target ammo f...

A real Walker or a replica? Those are so freakin' cool. I've always wanted one. Would really like a Walker conversion. Hard to beat. Love my cowboy guns. I have a Colt SSA, a Winchester 1892, and a 1873. All .45 long colt. Love'em all.

Re: The effects of radiation on zombies...?

I seem to think that this was touched on in at least one of the many zombie books I have read. The idea, from what I remember, is that the zombie itself would become radioactive and spread that radioactivity around as it walked. I would think enough gamma radiation would destroy the brain and ultima...

Re: Zombies and water.

...and what about a zombie shark? Sounds like a good idea for a Syfy channel movie. Big zombie great white with a tiny brain that's had to hit. Swimming around infecting other sea life (i.e. orca, other sharks, turtles) and all these zombie sea animals eating beach goers. Awesome. I'll start working...
