Re: Once Men

Agree... good to see this one rebooted. Big plot gap with the daughter right now though.

This one reads a lot like the back story/script for a pretty cool video game (movie maybe?); any thoughts along those lines?

Re: the Bigger Monster (Short)

Damn... This tale is set in a world gone crazy, with different rules and of course punishment, but don’t think I could stand aside and let my son be beaten to death in front of me; consequences be damned. I love it when something I read makes me think about what I’d do in that circumstance... Nice w...

I just received a PM from TB and he's having a challenging time (to put it lightly) right now but he IS working on MOAR chapters to the story.
Thank you... Appreciate the update.

Re: 2019 - Current Battle Rifles in 7.62x51

Hard to go wrong with a well-sorted AR10 in .308 or even 6.5 Creedmoor; lots of support and options. A couple friends own Falkor Petras in 300 WinMag and love them. One of them also owns a SCAR-17 with the lower that accepts standard AR10 mags (can’t recall name)... That combo might very well be the...

There are some of us in the Austin Area, although Chapter 30 has basically been dead for a while now. Only mostly dead! Welcome to the board...things may have slowed down a bit around here lately, but a solid core group of posters. And the popularity of a board like this comes in waves; though many...

Great short story, with possibility for a lot Moar if you choose to develop it further.

Re: How Does Your Garden Grow? 2015 edition

Bit of a thread necro, but just realized this is a great thread for me and my current situation. We still have access to several hundred acres on two very close friend’s ranches, but somehow keep putting off buying one of our own. We recently purchased a couple acres up on a lake north of here where...

haven't posted much recently, been busy with life. Honestly haven't done a hell of a lot on the property. But we've been doing a lot more on the beekeeping side and well, I kinda proposed to the GF on FB live and she had no idea. We made a quick and dirty edit for YouTube. You can see it below. Hop...

Appreciated the author’s notes too; nice touch. Spotted a couple typos that spell check wouldn’t catch, “new” vs “knew...

Could be the ammo, but I’ve had nothing but very good experiences with Freedom’s ammo. Haven’t bought any from them in at least 6 months though. Only “test” I didn’t see above was whether or not you completely disassembled the bolt carrier group when you cleaned it. My immediate suspicion is that yo...

Finally finished the first book last night... looking forward to the back story!

Again, not usually a big fan of the “super powered” protagonist or foe, but a very good and well-written read! Would buy again...

This reads a lot like a screen play...is that the plan?

I’m in the Pac NW down near Olympia for some training through Thursday...fly back to Tejas Friday. Based on the geography of the tale, methinks he’s up here somewhere. What famous authors live up here? Terry Brooks who wrote the Shannara series, as well as a couple others...one of my favorite series...

Re: The Dead at Destitute Mountain

Was at a Barnes&Noble the other day (yes, we still have one in town!), and as I was coming down the escalator saw a very pretty young blond girl with some scars on her face...looked like from a run in with a barbed wire fence. I almost...almost...asked her if her name was Katrina by any chance, but ...
