Re: Kydex Holster for Baofeng UV-5R anyone interested?

Deal kind of fell through for now but I'm working at a gun store now after leaving the Marine Corps and have access to a few custom makers. I plan on getting up with them in the near future.

What does your front iron have to do with the RDS or the magnifier?

Kydex Holster for Baofeng UV-5R anyone interested?

I am in talks with a kydex manuf. to send him an inop BAOFENG (5R series) radio to have a mold on hand to build kydex holsters for these radios. I've searched around a lot and found a few people who have built their own but no one mass produces them. Would anyone else be interested in purchasing one...

Shooting match with Bolt Action

My 1-4 literally fell apart on me so I had to go to my Red Dot. The windage turret excused itself. The whole turret. I forgot to turn on the camera for stage 1 and 3. So I only got two of the stages captured. Even so I took my class first place since I was the only one in the bolt action division. I...

Cross Band Repeater in a box-solar powered w/battery backup

Have you ran the unit to battery depletion? I am contemplating a similar setup with an 8 amp hour battery. If it is only good for 24 hours, then I need to rethink this approach. I have not. I just had it setup at a motorcycle rally for 5 days and even with the small solar panel battery life was not...

Cross Band Repeater in a box-solar powered w/battery backup

A cross band repeater unit I built for motorcycle rally and Jeep event use. This is the basic setup before I installed the wiring. Radio on the left (KGUV8D) Low cost UPS battery in the middle. This is an 8AH battery. Right is a charge controller 20 amp unit which is way overkill for this build as t...

Ready for the new season. I liked the first one because you always knew the dead were somewhere watching nearly all the time.

My guess is Maggie or Abraham. Of course it could be Glenn. I think those are the only 3 real options at this point.

Re: My powder coat bullet adventure

Their online order system is currently locked down because they've had so many orders they want to catch up before accepting more orders. I'm down to my last 200 or so projectiles so I may have to order from ACME, I was really looking forward to ordering up some of the zombie green projectiles :vmad:

Re: Elmer question BaoFeng BF-F8HP vs UV-5R

Eh there may have been soemthing wrong with it. I've got the 82HP as well and really like it. It's a bit more ergonomic than the 5R. I do like the 5Rs extended batteries as well. The 82HP is the only 82 I have the rest I have are 5Rs (5) and BF888s (4) and a single Wouxon KG-UV8D that I picked up fo...

Re: My powder coat bullet adventure

Nice :) I shoot coated bullets in 9mm. Would love to see someone start mass producing .223 that could survive the trip out of a AR's barrel. I've been using ACME and Eggelston Muntions 124/125 gr coated bullets for a while now and really like them. I don't have the drive to powder coat my own cast b...

Re: Let's talk camouflage

Considering the areas I live and play most of what I have is on the greenish side of the spectrum. I have some solid tan and some DCUs, and my "issued" MARPAT Desert but that's the expcetion. I've found that in my areas (North Central Texas and SOCAL) unless you are in the no kidding desert areas li...

Re: USMC Urban Combat Training

I think that's range 131 that is fully built brick city but yeah most of the MOUT ranges there are converted conex boxes. I got to do an airsoft game on the MOUT town near AREA 33 (Kilo 2) last year. Was a great time. Even if it was connex boxes haha. They setup all the doors so they could be kicked...

Re: HAM RADIO on my motorcycle

Thanks :) 150 for the headset and I paid 90 for the SR-10 bluetooth hub used. They are about 170 new. So the bluetooth setup new is about 10 times the cost of the Baofeng haha. That gear is built for motorcycle use so is a bit more hardened against vibrations than the average HAM radio and I'm not w...

Re: Elmer question BaoFeng BF-F8HP vs UV-5R

The volume control on my first UV-5R has failed. It's basically on full volume or off so it's been relegated to motorcycle duty since I can control the volume via the bluetooth headset, while another UV-5R takes it's places on my backpack.
