Re: Firearms Chat 3: #pewpewlife
I have an idea in my head, but I'm wondering if cutting down a old Colt barrel would be considered blasphemy? I have an Double Diamond built AR in 9mm that accepts Glock mags. I'm thinking since it's a blowback design I won't have to worry about the typical feeding issues with gas fed pistols/barrel...

Re: Firearms Chat 3: #pewpewlife
Mav, do you know who makes that mag well/mag chute? I had the Techwell mag well and proprietary aluminum grips on one gun: https://www.speedshooter.com/images/TWXT.jpg Since I have not competed in a few years, it is just too honking big. It's been so long since I ordered parts I don't honestly reme...

Re: Firearms Chat 3: #pewpewlife
That's a good looking heater there, Maverick. But I gotta ask, why .38 Super? Several reasons. One being that the M1911 was actually designed for the .38 acp cartridge and it just about ended up being the choice for the M1911 sidearm. If they hadn't of changed their minds last minute and gone with ...

It's been a long time in the making..............15 months to be exact. But my baby is finally done and home with me. 100 yard IPSC steel targets are almost to easy for the .38 Super :D I'm undecided if the rosewood grips will remain or swap out for something different. http://i802.photobucket.com/a...

Lol, so business as usual I see. Well I better post a list of newly acquired toys since last time I was here so you all can high five and/or shake your heads in disdain. HK VP9 West German Sig P226 dated to 1983 Custom 1911 in .38 super Ruger 10/22 1980's Remington Wingmaster 20 gauge (for my nephew...

Re: Firearms Chat Part 2: Bullpups cause all the rage!
At the range today I decided to get a little cocky and try to shoot a smiley face into a target like they do in Hollywood. After the first three shots all I could see was something similar to this..... :oh: and I got to giggling so damn bad I decided that 3 shots was enough. That and the fact that ...

Thanks! That is a knife from Grey Wolf Knives. I can't remember but I think Aaron calls that model the Skinny Bushcrafter. Made form O1 steel. It takes on a great patina and takes a wicked edge! http://graywolfknives.com/ Beautiful!!!What is her name?(who made it?) This beauty showed up in the mail ...

Re: Firearms Chat Part 2: Bullpups cause all the rage!
Made for some interesting mag changes. They ran us through the **** county course to qualify to be issued a rifle. We were timed and not given much of it. Everyone else was on the 2nd mag and I had my rifle rolled over trying to push a round back into the magazine through a very warm ejection port. ...

Using the same ammo? I was thinking shitty mags until you start talking about he bolt catch... not sure that's even a problem being out of spec. Is the spring fucked? Not the same ammo but similar. I switched from Brown Bear to Silver Bear for the class because I had a case of it sitting around and...

Re: Firearms Chat Part 2: Bullpups cause all the rage!
Perplexing question of the day. My AR build has fired 2100 flawless rounds, mostly with cheap Russian steel case ammo. My gun builder was bragging up what a good job he did assembling the upper so I saw that as "challenge accepted". The first 2100 rounds were fired without every wiping down the bolt...

I take issue with that list. They left out the Rem700 owners who think an off the shelf BDL is an M40. ....but, but, but.......snipers use Rem 700's. What does a Bad Data Link have to do with me being a sniper? I want a guillie suit so I'm invisible. Man I know you're jesting, but fuck me that shit...

Re: Firearms Chat Part 2: Bullpups cause all the rage!
So what is going to be custom about this 1911? . It's going to be a mish-mash of parts. Fusion frame and slide, with the internals being a mixture of Wilson and Nighthawk. The custom part comes from the assembly of everything being hand fitted and stoned to fit/function to tolerances that I can bar...

Re: Collapsible Bushcraft/Back Packing Saw
Thanks for all the replies. I decided on a 24" Schmidt Pack Saw. I wanted something a little more substantial for cutting "logs". I've used the small folding saws in the past and they work great for things 3" or less in diameter but I wanted something for 4"-6" diameter logs. 24" of cutting surface,...

Anyone running one of these yet? I've never wanted an AR pistol...............but now I kinda do! http://sigsauer.com/SigStore/sb15-pistol-stabilizing-brace-552.aspx Yup. I was thinking more along the lines of a buck saw, not really a folder, but thanks for the suggestions so far.

Collapsible Bushcraft/Back Packing Saw
I am in the market for my first bushcraft saw and could use some help from people that have hands on with them. Stipulations are as follows: 1. Must be collapsible. 2. Lightweight for backpacking 3. Sturdy enough for hardwood 4. I don't want to say money is not a stipulation, but I would rather pay ...
