I saw two or three episodes of this and all I can say is... Who says blood is thicker than water? This family will be their own downfall in easy times.. I would not go to this place when things get hard... Mickey mouse builds better castles I really hope most of the drama is fake for the camera dram...

Looks like gear that would get taken away or sold pretty darn quick. I wonder how many tarps equal that spiffy sidewalk tent or how many quality surplus bags equal that custom backpack.
Yes they need shelter and gear..but custom gear?

Loved the review, even watching it on my phone.I picked up the smaller camp model not shown this summer as an impulse buy.now I'm thinking of getting a larger one to keep it company. I'm very happy with it , but only used it a little this summer.

Re: Driveway chain or cable?
I would go with nothing less than 3/4 inch cable. .. Covering it with many small sections of pipe to make it hard to cut or saw through. Like some locks that can be found. I don't know a thing about tensile strength. . But I would back it up with mini home made tank barriers like the ones used in ww...

I could be wrong..but F150 or chev 1500 truck = half ton F250 or chev 2500 truck = 3/4 ton F350 or chev 3500 truck = one ton. At least that is how they are referred to by anyonei have met. Tow and carrying capacity can differ over 1000lbs on the same model truck depending on options And I have no id...

Nope. Just Bear Grylls. He drank pee pee once. That means he can't really start a fire. . . And he really isn't a mountain climber. Or knows nothing about parachuting. :gonk: LOL! Just drank pee once? I was sure he drank it a few times.. peed in his water bottle and then drank from it for h...

If you don't need the room then yes something small is better than large. If you can live with a 8x6 or even a 12 x 7 that is the way to go. Less to heat in winter, less to cool in summer. I would wire the interior lightingfor low voltage (12 vdc ) led lighting on the interior. Composting toilet (en...

I'd agree. Man VS. Wild is entertainment dressed up as education. The reason I think it upsets so many people is that it might get someone killed. Many people I have talked to have find problems with man vs wild and bear gryills because of the claims of the show and bear that "we will show you how ...

Well if you don't mind thinking way out side the box.. I would think of a one Ton cube van. About 16 feet or 20 feet long. Pros.. Can tow your truck and you bike fits inside. Park anyplace, no one tows cube vans like campers in most cities. Can be custom designed lots of room for a single guy very i...

Your holes are too big.. That is the usual reason your flames get too big.. If the flames are not all blue you are optimized. Or it pressurizes to much and blows the flame out. I made a few before I got the mix of many many small holes. Pot holders work..some better than others but I found that all ...

Watch it all on CNN as I go to the local police office that was built in the 60's that has a bunker underneath, make a deal with the chief to show him the access point for giving me entry. (most don't know bunkers were built under the offices)

If we are talking best survival in a situation like car breakdown in the middle of no place or getting lost in the woods then the best survival advice is
Do not move. Find the best spot to hold up and wait for rescue..
Self rescue ends badly more often than not for most average people.

As I recall on one episode man vs wild showed bear using a fire plow on a piece of weathered drift wood in close proximity to the ocean (or some body of water with good sized waves. As I recall the wood looked very weathered (that semi dark damp grey look). I personally believe that waterlogged wood...

Saw the movie..
Definitely not the apocalypse I would choose. Those zombies are way too damn fast..
Decent movie.not fantastic in any way but worth the price.
Plot was thin.but not worse than many movies.
Have not read the book.the movie had not encouraged me to in any way.

I am mainly jealous that Bear is now filthy rich, better looking, famous and somewhat arrogantly satisfied with himself. Really You think Gerber posts that much money to slap his name on products? Its not like discovery pays much for an episode either... But then maybe you have a different measurin...
