Re: What have you bought in the last 48 hours?(firearms related)

I didn't actually buy it but a neighbor who was moving asked if I could dispose of some old ammo for them. When I said yes they gifted me a cardboard box filled with about 100 rounds of 30-06 softpoints from the 1940s through 1960s  http://i.imgur.com/OvJoG53l.jpg http://i.imgur.com/UzGLkEKl....

I’ll probably get banned but.... nothing i posted was untrue, merely laid out in an unpleasant manner.
If we banned people for being unpleasant at times this place would be a ghost town.

I dunno... I'll bet if you spin it right you could easily rent out any vacant apartments there. Describe it in glowing terms, with reference to "summer of love" and being " right in the heart of CHOP, that wonderland of autonomy and free expression, the hottest neighborhood for those of the "in" cr...

I have never lent an automobile to a hooker. :)

I have lent my bicycle to one on several occasions though.

(she always gave me her purse to hold, with more than enough cash in it to cover the $50 the bike cost me if she didn't come back - we were friends)

Re: Firearms CHAT: [insert chat title here]

I had a really dumb thought flash through my brain a minute ago. Y'all know the Magnum Research BFR revolvers, right ? I wonder if anyone has ever thought to have one chambered in something like 7.62x39. Now this probably wouldn't work considering the 7.62x39 is kind of tapered and all of the chamb...

Places that prohibit the otherwise legal carrying of arms should be required, by law, to provide secure storage for visitor's weapons. If I decide to bicycle to the post office to check my PO box I shouldn't have to leave my legally carried pistol home for lack of an automobile to secure it in. Req...

Re: The Coming Civil War - (Warning: No Politics)

Bottom line takeaway from all this? It's best if you don't live near any political figure or celebrity because one day you might find yourself sitting on the edge of "ground zero" of a mob's attention. If you do find yourself sitting there, don't make yourself a secondary target. Let "sit down, shu...

I present to you the ultimate in manual cutting systems: the Kukrax . Do you like the cutting power and utility of kukris? The simplicity of purpose of an ax? Just put the two in a room, add a bit of bow-chicka-wow-wow, and you end up with this beaut: https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/wp-content/...

Of note, it seems that Minnesota has a castle doctrine for the home, but not businesses or other such; outside of the home they have a duty to retreat. If they're reducing the police force, I wonder if that will end up changing. Given the guy that wishes he'd given his car keys to a mugger, I'm not...

The information I have, is that the roads were private and not maintained by the city, county or state. It seems doubtful that the city or county would allow this enclave to put up wrought-iron gates, blocking off a public road...but I suppose it's possible. I have seen conflicting information on t...

One can hope! That's the main reason I keep a .40 cal around, for those times that cheap police and alphabet agency surplus ammo hits the market. And agencies have been stocking up in record numbers in recent years, it would be nice for shooters if police get defunded and have to sell some of that ...

Welp, I hope the defunding/budget cuts a lot of departments across the country are looking at won't adversely affect their equipment selection/availability. :ooh: Lots of people disagree! But advocating for better armed or worse armed police isn't a great topic for ZS, so moving on! It could affect...

Re: What Did You Do Today To Prepare?

Built my first *working* antenna!!! I used a BNC/Banana post connector, 14 ga stranded wire, and ring connectors. About as simple as this can get. I made a quarter wave antenna with a ground plane. If one has seen a "jungle antenna" one knows exactly what I made. I worked on 70cm, and got the SWR o...
