Re: The Coming Civil War - (Warning: No Politics)

Ahem, politics gentlemen? I'm on the road and cannot easily edit this thread without digging out a laptop, which means it's far easier for me to just lock it and be done with it. I'd rather not do that so let's please steer the thread back on course.

Re: Firearms Chat: Yeet Cannon 2 Electric Boogaloo

There's an outdoor range in Odessa that I know a few people go to, but I've never been there. I think a yearly membership is around 150 bucks, but I'm not sure. I just go to the private range on my cousin's land. It's free for me and all I have to do is let my cousin know when I'm planning on going...

Oh fuck... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3RIHnK0_NE They never should have tried to make it put down Old Yeller. Now it's out there, armed and dangerous, on the run from its former masters, and I'm about to drive right through that area in a few days. I wonder if I have enough room in the trailer ...

Re: Firearms Chat: Yeet Cannon 2 Electric Boogaloo

One of the things I'm looking at with our move to Idaho is getting enough land far enough away from neighbors to put in my own range. 100 yards would be nice but I wouldn't complain if I can manage more. One of the properties I've seen listed in the area we're looking at is a horse boarding/training...

Gun show or Range. I have done the math, & I can't do both.
Pet expo or cat toy shopping. Paleface insists.

(otherwise, go to the range. nothing you can buy at a gun show will benefit you as much as range time.)

Re: EMP car?

That said today most people cannot drive a manual transmission car. (I can. That is all I drove for years) The common wisdom/joke is that a manual transmission is a great anti-theft device. The downside is that after they take it and you finally get it back you'll need a lot of those little green t...

I wonder if some of these came from the auction of my cousin's guns this past year. That would be an interesting coincidence. He was from Wisconsin but the guns and cars were auctioned in Indiana. BTW the cost to simply buy PG&E outright just got a lot lower. Their market cap is down to $2.64 billion at closing down from ~$180 billion (last 52 wk high point). https://finance.yahoo.com/video/bankrupt-pg-e-plunges-california-185039797.html https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/PCG?p=PCG&.tsrc=fin-sr...

Re: Firearms Fails: The Wall of Shame

I took my "new" BM59 to my friend's place today and put a box of Federal M80 ball ammo through it to check accuracy and function. My first shot was way the hell off, low and to the right. Then I realized that I had lined up the left "ear" that protects the front sight and not the sight post. ...

Took the BM59 out to my friend's place today and set out a couple of milk jugs filled with water in one of the fields ~100 yards away. Missed with the first shot, way low and right, realized I was mistaking the left side front sight ears as the sight post (to my everlasting shame), corrected my sigh...

Evidently Gander Outdoors did away with their FFL fees a couple of months back, even if you didn't buy it from them. That was a pleasant surprise to me the other day when I picked up the rifle I'd purchased from Midway.

I like the look of that Nikon Prostaff scope! It looks to my inexperienced eyes that these rings will fit that scope: https://www.sportsmansguide.com/product/index/nikon-a-series-1-aluminum-scope-rings?a=2044990 There are three size options low, M and high. Not sure of the difference there. Is it s...

I looked at the takedown and like how you can break it down instantly and throw it in a pack. I also have to admit I have been re-reading Doc 66’s story Hannah, in our fiction section and the 10/22 plays an important role in zombie defense. I’m looking for an adequate scope for my Picatinny rail. I...

Re: An AR-15 does not Legally have a Receiver & ATF Cannot Regulate It?!

I guess that this is going to be a non-issue. I don't believe that the courts would rule that the lack of a comma makes many modern firearms not have a receiver, or that all those already existing one have to get all the components that are listed engraved with the mandatory markings for a receiver...

I like to have two, depending on the task. I like to have one very bright one - 350 lumens or higher so I can see what I am working on or in. I don't know about the murders, but I know there is no firearms registration in WA state at all unless you want to carry concealed. Even then, the firearm itself is not registered. I am also very concerned with how quick many people are throwing around names and "fascist" or "communist." It sounds ...
