Availability seems to be slowly coming back as people reach their storage limits and the panic buying slows down. I'm sure a lot of barely used guns will start hitting pawn shops soon.majorhavoc wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 3:17 pmAt the very least, I do not expect ammo prices/availability to improve any time soon.

I'll also add that with the political and regulatory football Covid has become, clear and honest statistics/info is not always easy to obtain, and that any/all info obtained should be carefully viewed for evidence of bias, especially affirmative bias.

My very nice 10-30x50 Barska binocs were home of course, lost somewhere in my garage as we try to pack and move. Ditto for my 30-90x90 Barska spotting scope. (though I suspect the scope might be buried on the table in front of my power tool shelves) ETA: I did find out last night that the rail I'd ...

Re: When the police recommend you shelter in your basement, but you only have a crawlspace
One of my favorite childhood memories was working with my older brother and older cousins to make a punji trap in our grandmother's back yard. My Mom was horrified and immediately warned our grandmother where it was. I was the youngest one there, I have no idea what the psychopathic buffoons were t...

Boy, I'm just failing all over the place these days. So I'm trying to fix the problem with the Picatinny mount on my BM59 and I realize that I can't find the instructions that came with the mount and I didn't scan them and save them as I should have. Double failure. :ohdear: Okay, I should be able t...

The biggest downside is it's got the 80/20 bench rather than console, but if I decide it's a big enough deal apparently that's swappable. Yeah, that's how I ended up with a pair of $200 seats for my Dakota sitting in my spare room for the last ten years. We were trying to replace a driver's seat wi...

Re: Money, money, money
Burying a pelican case or pipe filled with foreign currency strikes me as a great way to lose it. The gun safe is probably a far safer place to store it. Even a couch cushion would be safer. But if you REALLY want to bury it, you're welcome to come bury it in my garden. Maybe someone already did. 8...

You do not need a pelican case; a link to a simple PVC pipe cache that can work nicely. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUogyKl4IYE&ab_channel=JohnRourke Note if you use this method condensation is also possible so be sure the water proof the contents. Also I suggest using a marine sealant like 3M ...

Why weren't you supposed to sharpen a bayonet ? I never learned why, evidently if I made rank I would get "the big picture", I hit Corporal (instead of Spec4), then made Sergeant, then Staff Sergeant and was in line for Sergeant First Class. I never even caught a glimpse of "the big picture". I was...

Power - I'm lucky enough there's three or four light fixtures wired in. One option I have is those light socket outlet thingies This would allow one to run a phone charger and small radio. What's your home heating type? If you have ducts and an air handler (forced air) then there's supposed to be a...

Re: Near-Death Experiments in Food
Looking at the wikipedia entry on fermentation, hydrogen can also be flatulated, interestingly by one of my namesakes, Clostridium pasteurianum. I've ignited lots of different gasses, but my giant orange fireball that was bigger than myself looked a lot more like acetylene than hydrogen. It was lik...

OK, what about simply converting some of my money to foreign currency in the forum of cash? I've gone to US airports and changed USD to other currencies but that was for a short trip. Re: What have you bought in the last 48 hours?(firearms related)
Picked up a Crimson Trace CTS-25 red dot optic today from Academy (first time in a couple months I was able to get to the local one) along with a spare parts kit from XTS for my AR and a Magpul ladder rail panel. Paid about 70 bucks for the CTS-25, which surprised me since I figured Crimson Trace s...
