Well, I had to write my first incident report at work the other day. Background: Parking services officer for my university. (glorified meter maid) Issued a guy a citation for being at an expired meter. He came out juuuust as I put it on his windshield. Immediately started going off about how he was...

Re: Explosions at Manchester Arena

does security not look for bombs? you would think in this day that's what people would be doing. Especially at any big event it really needs to be treated like the president is going to attend. There's a lot of issues when trying to screen for bombs/weapons: 1) The sheer number of people attending....

Re: Several must read SCi-fi based Apocalyptic novels

The Passage by Justin Cronin is fantastic, first book of a trilogy. I won't ruin the story but it's interesting in that Cronin addresses both the immediate and long-term effects of an apocalyptic event while also keeping one hell of a story going. Reminds me somewhat of The Stand by Stephen King. T...

Can I ask the world's potentially dumbest shotgun-related question? I was talking with a friend and he said his dad would never shoot slugs out of his choked shotgun, ANY choke, because in his words "The choke narrows at the end of the barrel so the slug would destroy/blow up the barrel since it's t...

I work for my university as a parking enforcement officer. Yes, I'm a glorified meter maid. But I basically get paid to exercise every day since we cover the whole campus on foot. It may not be the most reliable source of news in the world, but here's the reddit live thread if anyone's interested:

Just bear in mind it's all user-submitted news/resources so take everything with a dump-truck's worth of salt.

Should be a check question. Since I always click the first box I come to that allows me to read the article I guess the program might interpret it that I read the question and am not Hannibal Lector. A lot of the surveys I do have "Attention check" questions to make sure you're actually reading, bu...

I'm already planning on doing a tour from Laramie to Denver sometime in the next few months. How did your tour go, man? Sadly it didn't happen this year. Combination of busy school/work schedule, weather, etc kinda turned my plans into mush. Plus I realized my bike is going to need some work (read:...
