Re: Motorcycles

KLRs are great bikes, all my adventure touring friends have at least started out on one, and some of them swear by them. If you are new to motorcycling, I'd recommend starting with a nice clean used Japanese street bike in the 250-400cc range, take the MSF course, wear your gear all the time and pra...

I guess of you are super committed to the AR platform this makes sense, but I always found part of the fun of black powder guns was the old fashioned ness of them

whatever machine you get, find the sturdiest one possible as they take a beating with us big guys. I ultimately went for jogging on the street and I find apps like Couch to 5k and Zombies, Run! to be indispensable, totally helps me stay focussed on the run. I started out with some knee pain, but I'v...

I get the whole "maintaining a good image" stance. But when did joking and sarcasum become somthing that would degrade from that image? Just seems a bit ridiculous to me. But who am i to judge, others for getting butt hurt over jokes and sarcastic comments. Usually those "butt hurt" people ...

all this talk of machined parts makes me think a slab sided lower with a polished, machine-turned finish would look good, with rosewood furniture.

Re: WHAT GUNS/AMMO CAN YOU FIND IN YOUR AREA?

WOW cali of all places. i would love to have ammo prices that are only 30% higher and not 200% higher. I am new to the prepping game. I can rock about 1000 - 22lr/shorts, 200 - 380, 100 - LC45, and 200 - 410. but just like BigDaddyTX said, im stocking up little by little, a brick here and box there...

Re: WHAT GUNS/AMMO CAN YOU FIND IN YOUR AREA?

I picked up a new to me Glock 19 this past Saturday at a gun shop in Vallejo, not far from where I live in San Francisco and the store was fully stocked, including a wall full of black rifles. As I already have an AR, I didn't browse any of them but I did look at lever guns and a 1911 and the prices...

Re: What's your "firearms philosophy" for your battery?

I'm pretty much with the OP lately, I've just tried to get down to the basics with a Glock 19, an AR, an 870 clone in 12 gauge and a Mosin-Nagant. I've sold/traded a couple of the oddballs (mostly for monetary reasons). I have to admit though that handled a couple of lever guns this week, and I thin...

Re: I am Now a Glock Believer, Any Others?

I recently decided to take the plunge and I'm pretty happy with the choice. Up until now, I the only pistols I've owned have not been practical, a Raven .25 (crappy, weak, inaccurate), a Rossi .38 Special snub nose revolver (reliable, but limited in range and reloading speed), and most recently a CZ...
