I drive a 1997 cummins diesel, and I would not change it in a wrol or shtf scenario... why?? because in my estimation that vehicle is to get me and mine to the bug out location, that is it's primary job... after that only used if no other options are necessary.

A large part of bugging out is being able to bring what you need with you, have shelter, etc...My spring project is to build one in my 1997 dodge ram cummins...

In your bov let's see how you store everything?? Links to write ups on how you built them would be nice if you have them as well.
