Re: FAL Kit

DSA makes an Israeli marked receiver (they put their own marking on the inside of the mag well) as well as Izzy type barrels. Last I checked, they had the receivers in stock, but not barrels. (I bought one of the kits. Hoping they get both the needed pieces in stock at the same time.) Might also nee...

I think he likes it.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkE1gJfbyPw I want someone to make (or import) the Polish Beryl (arrow) version of the AK. Actually, I'd pay extra for one with the max allowed number of parts made in Poland. Or here, by a Polish company. Because the Poles are awesome and scre...

Re: Firearms Chat: Yeet Cannon 2 Electric Boogaloo

I was going to go to the range this weekend, but around Wednesday the chance of rain was 90% until early afternoon. My favorite range turns into a mud pit pretty easily, so that pretty much scrubbed range-time. Instead, what it did was rain enough to make the range a mud pit, but not enough to real...

Re: Why do some countries have very few COVID-19 serious illnesses and deaths??

Interesting article on quarantine, as practiced until relatively recently. This is centralized quarantine, as described in Leviticus 13 and 14, (and who knows, quite possibly practiced around the same time in China), not this self-isolation lockdown thing we've been doing. The most interesting point...

Re: Firearms Chat: Yeet Cannon 2 Electric Boogaloo

Part of getting the best deal is having an intended purpose and finding something that fits that purpose. So, what's the build going to be and what kind of quality level are they looking for? I think the intended purpose is "good enough and as cheap as possible". Really, anymore there is little to ...

Re: Firearms Chat: Yeet Cannon 2 Electric Boogaloo

Only .243 AR I've seen came from Olympic Arms and those were pretty rare even back when Olympic was still around. You honestly had a better chance of finding a newly released Keltec rifle like the RDB or even an SU-16 (of which I still kind of want despite having an actual AR15 now) than one of tho...

13.5 hours...that has to set a record for an active shooter incident. At least of the non-terrorist variety. Beslan was longer.

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.

This is for my "Most Triggering EBR" project - i.e., how many AWB features can I manage to include on a single rifle? Thus, the important piece is not the fixed front sight itself - it's the bayonet lug, which you can only get as part of the A-frame, M-16/M-4 type gas block. FWIW, though I dunno th...

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.

Anyone know the longest free float handguard that will fit on a 16" barrel with mid-length gas? My tape measure says about 9.5". Anyone here ever tried a build like that? You have an A-frame front site on this? they make rails that will go around the site and even have a rail section in front, that...

Branch option question: if you take an A-frame front sight/gas block and chop the sight part off, will it fit under a normal free...

The next time someone tries to drag out the tired old anti-2A argument that a bunch of old farts with rifles and shotguns stand no chance in standing up to a tyrannical government because the government has better weapons I'm giving them a link to this: This Man Owns The World's Most Advanced Priva...

Re: Firearms Chat: Yeet Cannon 2 Electric Boogaloo

Ammo prices don't look to be falling again anytime soon. I was just over on Rock Island Auctions bidding on a few things and what ammo was going for was insane . I think even RIAC themselves were surprised because stuff was going for 2x their high estimate for some things, and .50 BMG or belted amm...

Yes! Don't ruin my space the way you ruined yours To be fair though. With huge corporations making all the decisions these days. And pouring billions into advertising/politics/news etc. etc. It's really the big politicians that are making these decisions. Not the populace so much. No one here in CA...

OK, tell me more about the baoynet lug on the second AR from the left. The one without the A frame front sight gas block. I need one like that for the upper build I'm working on.* Who makes it, what's it called where did you get it? That lug was cut off from the front half of an old clamp-on gas bl...

Re: Firearms Chat: Yeet Cannon 2 Electric Boogaloo

That is not an unreasonable concern. I may work on stocking up on some of the less popular calibers in my arms room (6.5 Grendel, .40S&W) as long as prices on those stay non-silly.

Re: Firearms Chat: Yeet Cannon 2 Electric Boogaloo

So, ammo prices are going through the roof again, and people are buying tons of guns (gotta love that those words rhyme in English :awesome: )

I've got plenty of guns, and a decent supply of ammo, especially if I reduce my range trips.

Time to buy bayonets!

I'm trying to be optimistic and hope things will quiet down within the next couple weeks, but the pessimistic side of me is preparing for a dry run for the ZPAW. Minus the zombies and Mila Kunis riding shotgun in my armored Explorer, of course. Okay, but I call dibs on Betty White for my shotgun ri...

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.

If anyone's interested - the official Army PEO Soldier guide to spray painting your M-16/M-4. Also works for AR-15s. Although the part about taping or otherwise covering the barrel and gas block might be a challenge for rifles with free-float handguards, unless you remove the handguard. https://www....

357 SIG (G31) barrel for my G22 arrived today. Ammo should be here next week. Along with a can (1080 rounds) of RoK surplus .30 carbine. Hopefully the weather is good next weekend.
