Re: Destiny

Just hit 1,000 hours. It's tough to break into the endgame stuff without a group, but once you do, it's amazing.

Re: MOLLE Assault Packs, adding Sustainment Pouches is ok?

My very first bug out bag. It blows. No suspension and the weight gets out of control for a shoulder carry bag. Note that the pouches fit perfectly, but it's really a chore to carry unless you're ordered to.

Re: Closest Call

Once on a night fire range, during the 3rd iteration or so, I came up from IMTing only to notice SAW tracers coming east-west on a south-north range. I stupdly called for a cease fire from a knee instead of going prone. The tree I was using as a firing position took a hit a few feet above my head an...

Re: "Walking Dead" Cable Series

My hunch is that Beth is dead and we just don't know it yet. I was following the facebook feed during the commercials and there are a lot of people that didn't like seeing Carl held down like that. I think that's why they abduct her from Daryl and make us wait 7 months. If she were to get kidnapped,...

Re: FNG with a new shotgun

Guaranteed faster follow-up shots and less soreness withing the first 30 days of use. By this do you mean that the shotgun will kick less after it breaks in, or that your body will adjust to the recoil? I never really though about it before I read your post but it makes sense. My buddies who are al...

Re: Destroying a staircase.

Why does everyone want to demolish stairs?! Stairs are just a metaphor; nobody really believes in them. :awesome: I think they read it in a book or seen it in a movie. A better idea would be hide in the attic with those pull up stairs. Then you still have them to get back down later. And you might ...

Re: Boondock's Bail-Out Bag

No. Don't. Doc's right. I can't see myself using a tampon for a GSW. That's what the Israeli bandage and cravat are for. What are we talking here though. The maxi pads or the little stick things? A tampon is a tampon. The pads/pantyliners are not tampons. If someone shoved a tampon in his GSW, I'l ...

Re: Which to get: Mystery Ranch 3DAP vs Camelback Trizip

I've owned both, of the two I'd go with the mystery ranch. But at that price I would pony up the few extra $ and get the kifaru x ray. I got a lot of good use out of the 3dap but why not spend 35+ and get the best. If I had just gone with kifaru to start, I would've saved 150$ after reselling the my...

Re: Doomsday Castle

I find this show pretty entertaining and try to catch the new ones.

Sure, they prioritized a falling tree roadblock and a catapult over a roof, but who knows how much of that crap is the producers calling the shots.

Its a pretty shitty castle though. Does anyone know where it is? Like what state?

Re: "Turning over" your BOB. (in with the new)

I'm in the midst of a pretty major overhaul of my main kit at the moment. As am I. My general philosophy with this is "go hard or go home." Not too long ago I had to downsize a large stash of gear due space and money considerations. As I update my main EDC/BOB I've decided to stick to top of the li...

Great thread OP. I'm glad you've shared it with us. My current situation is less than ideal. I'm one of 851k (at last count) veterans that are awaiting finalization of disability compensation claims. Things seem to get darker every day, and my family comes a step closer to falling apart as each mont...
