Re: MilCopp 2016: Time to Get Caught Up! Who Wants to TRAIN?

I would love to attend another Milcopp class. I hate that I've missed so many of them since the first session back in 2010. My biggest problem is that I have a two week commitment to the Army Reserve in late June to early July (the dates aren't solid yet) that might interfere with a summer class. Ri...

Re: Observations while picking up a new pistol

Thanks everyone for the feedback, compliments, etc. Kommander, it's interesting that you brought up the matter of the magazine disconnect, because that was one of the oddities about this particular pistol. It was pre-owned (I hesitate to say used because it looks so pristine) and evidently the previ...

Observations while picking up a new pistol

I tend to be a bit verbose when I write, so please bear with me. I promise nice pics of a new pistol will follow this little monologue. I was at one of my local gun shops (a very busy one, I should add) today picking up a pistol I had in layaway. During the inevitable paperwork process I noticed tha...

I just received product from and concluded a transaction with badkarma144 and everything went great. Product was as advertised, shipping was fast, and communication was good. I would say that you can definitely buy from him with perfect confidence.

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.

Looking for assistance with an AR-related situation. A family friend who is recuperating from a really bad motorcyle accident is looking to purchase an AR. He's wheelchair bound, but the real problem is he has issues with his fine motor skills and asked me if I had any ideas about a rifle that would...

As of about half an hour ago, Palmetto State Armory had M-16 MPI bolt carrier groups for $179.99. I managed to order one. As far as I know, right now they still have some in stock.

Re: MilCopp 2012 "pistol centered Carbine II" class, June 9-

Jot me in as a possible for all three days. I figure if I end up driving over 12 hours to get to the place, then I may as well maximize my trigger time. Work seems to be okay with the dates and my wife as well, so the only issue is funds. With a few months to go I think it will be something I can ma...

Re: MilCopp Spring 2012 class discussion

No set date as of yet, looking more like the 9th and 10th of june are better for the instructors. Waiting on a hard yes from them before I reserve the range for these dates. Those dates are looking feasible. I have drill the weekend before, but very possibly could take some vacation time around the...

Re: MilCopp Spring 2012 class discussion

Unfortunately, May is totally unworkable for me. I won't be done with my Army stuff until the 20th and then I'll likely have to make up the time for my coworkers who got stuck working for me while I was gone. So here I must sit on the sidelines and wait to see how things fall into place. :(

I'ma leave it until I or MilCopp breaks it. This might be a good time to mention that I'm going to be trying to put together enough people for a MilCopp class this fall. Details to follow after I talk to Don about it later today. That would be awesome. I'm still mad at myself for not being able to ...

Re: So I finally put together my first AR

The stock on the Saiga is by SGM Tactical (which used to be Surefire Gun Mags). It was designed for a Saiga in factory configuration and is basically a collapsible stock with an M4 type tube. When I purchased the 7.62x39 I had originally played with the notion of a partial conversion (mainly because...

Re: So I finally put together my first AR

Thanks for the input (Dave and TDW586) on the mags and the compliment on the rifle. I was looking at the Lancer mags. After I posted the question on the magazines I did a search and it seems that the Lancers are pretty popular with the ZS AR crowd. Considering the overall level of knowledge here, I'...

Re: So I finally put together my first AR

Get rid of that mag or at least toss it into the, 'training' pile. After a glowing product endorsement like that from Dave my pile of training magazines just got larger. As for a replacement, any other recommendations in addition to P-Mags and surplus G.I. mags? Lancers? Troy Battlemags? Opinons on...
