I need help choosing a pack
I'm going to be buying a new pack this month and I need some help choosing it. It'll be used for some Hiking, Commuting by foot and bike, and to hold a set amount of gear always. I was going to get a pack from Osprey, but I'm unsure if I'm going to continue with it. I'd like a affordable price, arou...

It will be placed on a 17' Metal Canoe. Because I'm a prepper too, I'd like to turn this into my bug out ve...

Re: 2014 Prepping Goals
My personal goal is to create a INCH Bag for myself. It'll be a bug out bag but I'll be planning on not returning for that just in case scenario. I'm thinking about using the Osprey Aether 85 Pack to hold everything in. Clothes will be bought, sealed, and stored at another location so that it doesn'...

Two Bamboo Ski Poles that will be used for trekking poles and a Weatherproof (R) Jacket. Both cost me $13.00 together.

I fell in love with the sword called the Godenak but I'm unsure about the original post. I am tired and this post I made is random as hell. Goodnight.

How Will Sand Effect A Cache?
I'm looking into getting a cache and one of the locations I want to put it is a giant half dirt, half rock, half sand island that no one goes on. How will sand effect the cache if it's being surrounded by sand on all sides of the PVC?

Re: Disaster Protocols
I actually didn't think about the cellphone or watch thing. I would have thought more of that if cars all over the city stopped working. I should really start focusing on more preps that don't involve electricity though. Should stop stalling on making a disaster plan for if there is no power (Solar...

One thing I dislike about this is people use it for a bug out bag. If I saw this from a long distance and I had a rifle, it'd be a target to me.

Re: converting a tool shed into a home
I am doing something similar for my Off The Grid Home life goal. Here's a list of a few things I was looking at getting for it. But one thing I recommend is you get a place with a loft space and make sure to make that one extra floor by adding boards to cover any hole or gap. Also if you want to be ...

Re: What am I missing?
I just found a gem that would make a lot of this easier. Would need to do the work on it that it needs, but that's a nice spot of land.

Re: What am I missing?
On the first link, it's of a shed for $6,895.00. I added another $1,000.00 for that in case. First I need to find some land though. Save up and buy the shed, and then buy it all. Slowly buying everything else as the money comes.gundogs wrote:Insulation and drywall?

Septic tanks? Seems like you've got the start up capital, so if you're serious about being as off-grid as possible... a reliance on service stations/gas stations/petrol stations, whatever you call them is avoidable. Look into a biodiesel reactor and methane collection (these are your septic tanks) ...

What am I missing?
I'm looking at a tiny home sort of living for almost off the grid. I'd be paying for a cell phone and internet, but everything else I plan on getting myself. Below is a list of things I put together in order for memory to remember what I need to save up for in order to get starting on living off the...
