Re: Need help with Dual Purpose bikes.

If you're not going on a highway, riding all day or over 300 lbs, then a 250 should be fine. I've always owned 650s (A Kawasaki KLR0650 and a Suzuki DL650) but I got my training and passed the test on a Kawasaki 250. The 250 wasn't as cool but it was disproportionately lighter, it felt like it could...

Re: "Daily COVID-19 SITREP In Your Area"

Eastern Washington Officially three cases in my county. Two in the county to the East. A co-worker's wife who is a psych nurse was exposed last night. I have been working from home since March 4th. My manager directed my department to work from home on the 12th. We provide tech support and someone h...

Re: "Daily COVID-19 SITREP In Your Area"

Eastern Washington. Confirmed Covid-19 cases 90 miles North and epicenter in Kirkland is about 300 miles East. My kids are still going to school. School, like all institutions, is resisting any change. Kids haven't observed anyone with symptoms. Neighbor kid who goes to a different school stopped by...

Re: When is it time to bunker up?

Just to add to the comedy... My mother-in-law is very sickly (83 y/o, obese, multiple heart attacks) and her greatest fear is dying because of the inability to breathe (Both of her parents died due to congestive heart failure). My wife suggested skipping church or at least sitting by herself and avo...

Re: When is it time to bunker up?

Provided we have electricity and water my family and I are good for ~60 days. If we lose water, we live near a lake and/or a river and have lots of water filtering gear. If we lose power it will be harder, a lot of stuff in the freezer could be salvaged and our diet may suffer a bit but I think we'd...

When is it time to bunker up?

Everyone here is at least a casual prepper. I suspect everyone has everything they need to avoid going out and getting sick, for at least a week. When do you decide to do this? If you're wrong -there might be social and professional penalties. If you go too soon -you may run out of supplies before i...

Re: Wuhan Coronavirus Thread

It sounds like the Wuhan corona virus is fairly flu-like, some people are dying but not a massive number (reported yet). What seems to make it unusual is that it is (I think this is the term) asymptomatically contagious, where you can catch it from someone who shows no symptoms. From what I've heard...

Yes! Another chance to share my ignorant and probably undesired opinions! As I mentioned on page one, my vote is for the AR-10 platform. My first “real” rifle was a rat-grade M-1A that I slowly turned into a match rifle (heavy barrel; National Match Guide rod, spring bolt and sights; glass-bedded Mc...

Re: College kids

Would it be possible to give them a cheap HAM radio and maybe a bit of practice, maybe even a HAM license?

I've tried to keep my kids nerdy, I might be able to talk them into something like this.

Re: Age Of The Living Dead (Amazon series)

When there are so many great stories out there (I'm thinking of "One Second After" and "World War Z") I cannot understand why they make such terrible and silly shows. Thank you for the warning -I will avoid this one. Hey... it worked for Walking dead I actually enjoyed the first couple seasons. It ...

I've noticed the lack of progress in camouflage in the last four to five years. The only source of new or interesting camouflage seems to be China. I'm a big fan of ATACS but I like this new stuff.

As I have evolved to the perspective that shotguns are passé. Plus I sold my Binelli and can never afford another, I shall offer a slightly different selection: 2010: HK USP Tactical .45 Binelli M1-Super 90 Armalite AR-10t 2019 Glock 17 w/RMR and Silencerco Osprey Suppressor. Re: KLR Storage - Mission Failure

I had a KLR. Loved that bike. 17k miles in two years. What year is your KLR? I'm also trying to resurrect an MG that has been sitting for ~15 years. I feel your pain. We did the same thing with the fuel tank but we used gravel instead of BBs, rebuilt the carbs and replaced all the fuel lines. First ...
