Re: The Dead at Destitute Mountain
I guess I need to spend more time out in the sticks, as I was unaware of any such road surface. Though if TB had referred to "the chipseal road" most readers would be blinking like a toad in a hailstorm wondering WTF is that? But that's the beauty of this forum: the breadth of knowledge in here is ...

Re: The Dead at Destitute Mountain
a narrow, gravel-paved country lane You can have gravel roads, or gravel covered roads, but not gravel-paved roads. Awkward…. Good catches on all of your corrections. The "gravel-paved" he's talking about is actually called chipseal. Common out in the sticks because it's cheap. Just asphalt and gra...

Re: An Unwelcome Development
I'm tracking now. I was thinking of forward threats, since they were driving to a waiting fight. Not through the windshield, but diagonal to the shoulders. No matter, you cleared it up and it makes sense now.
Thanks for the new update!

Re: Jack Roy
I enjoy the Spanish parts. I know about as much Spanish as Jack, so it's fitting. It's a lot easier to feel his frustrations and confusions when I have no idea what's going on either. I used a translator a couple of times early on, but then kicked that to the curb in favor of learning what's up as J...

I'm enjoying following this story as much as I did the previous. You're doing a great job and I can't wait for the next update. I do have to ask if they drive on the wrong side on that island. The quote below only makes sense if the driver is on the right. You and you, passenger side doors, front an...

Re: Who has a topper/cap on their pickup and how is equipped
thats a good idea Chris. I am hoping to put my cap back on tomorrow. I had to take it off for a few weeks due to a reqeust for a calendar photo, and was agreed on that the cap would be off for it. Started looking a little harder recently. A.R.E. has a setup that I really like. Partially because my ...

Re: SRD; defend this. please.
I was under the impression that the shotgun had already been relegated to *special duty*. Breaching and the such. I was under the impression that the North Hollywood shootout was the timer and that 9/11 was the detonation of the removal of the shotgun from a general purpose role. I can quite easily ...

That answers that. I, and many others, would love to see/hear about good stuff in the area, but opsec is opsec. Keep on with the good stuff and the lid will be put on the bad element soon. Not soon enough, but cold weather is coming and opportunistic rioters hate bad weather.

Re: SRD; defend this. please.
Because it's loud and scary, and everyone knows you mean business when you used the SRD. I don't know why you say society is rational, you know better than that. You live in a society where people think barrel shrouds are *silencers*, and a pistol gripped break-over pellet rifle is a machine gun. Ig...

Nope. I brain farted with my thought process. But, you can put on one of these with a choice of four better dedicated long range calibers.

.416 Barrett
.338 Laupa
.408 CheyTac

While not for a car, I saw this while window shopping for a new bed topper. Novel idea that you may be able to retrofit to your trunk

Oklahoma City. Used to have a Guard unit at the airport that ran C-130's. Hospital just to the east of it, nicer neighborhoods not too far from that. I wouldn't call them affluent, but nice middle to upper-middle class.

I did. I just wanted to clarify that the ninja squirrels haven't made it to my back yard yet. I have a teasing problem, not a jumping round house problem. I'll be cooking up whatever squirrels I drop, but I'm also going to be taking the opportunity to tan some hides as well.

Re: Lets Talk Air Rifles!
I like it very much, hefts nice, packs a pretty good wallop. Like all Gamo springers, the factory trigger is on the clunky side (give or take 6 to 6.5 lbs.) but after a tin worth of shooting, it smooths out a bit. if you are in the mood to tinker you could get an aftermarket trigger for it. The GTR...

A little chili trickle would have sufficed. Sure, he wasn't prepared for a full release, but he should at least be stained. It's cool, I dig it. He went all natural and figured the skunk to be his best mockery defense. I would feel bad attacking anyone that soured themselves.
