Cameron from Terminator: The Sara Conner Chronicles - programming altered to protect me instead of John. Get the dirty thoughts out of your head. A terminator would be the ultimate anti-zombie machine. Zombies aren't attracted to terminators, and terminators can headshot from miles away. Give the li...

You've got to bug out to an unknown BOL, and you can only...

So, let's say that for whatever reason, you've got to bug out RIGHT NOW to an unknown BOL for an unknown period of time. Again, for whatever reason, you only have two options for firearms. You can either take a nice .22LR semi-auto rifle with spare mags and an ammo can full of .22LR ammo (~8,000 rou...

Anybody ever buy from GunsForall.com?

I tried doing some research on Google, but they're all super mixed. Some people complain about delivery issues; other people say its great and cheap. Neither groups seems like they're shilling.

He's got a safe I'd like to but the mixed comments have me nervous.

One thing I didn't get is they've made Jim Shannon out to be such a tough guy (nearly a bad ass) such as popping off to his daughters suitor about him carrying a gun [...] I'm not defending the show (although I'm praying that it finds its footing; seems like it could turn into something fun), but I...

Re: Trying to decide which .22 rifle to get....

I have a lot of fun with the Sig 522 Trainer (.22LR). I went with that over the S&W MP15 because the Sig 522 takes standard .22LR "trainer" magazines that are also used in .22LR uppers and conversion kits. It just seemed better to have something using a standard magazine. Its a blast to shoot and ge...

CONUS - Lots of civilian weapons, strong military, easily farmed, lots of rural space between population centers, infrastructure to support rapid military response anywhere in North America. Austrailia - Fundamentally the same as CONUS, with the benefit of a much smaller population, a more easily de...

Re: Preparness Kit's a test

Their reasoning behind the no open flame is this. Their kit is designed as an emergency preparedness kit designed for "bugging in". The reason for no open flame source is due to the possibility of gas leaks. They are no building bug out bags just preparedness kits. I know that is there plan. But th...

HKTD, you’re even more right on than you might know. I don't practice law, but I did go to law school. I remember in torts class we studied a group of civil law cases that all revolved around the idea of "spring guns". In the field of jurisprudence, a spring gun isn't what you might expect. It's an...

Comm mount for a Jeep JK

So, I've got this here relatively stock Wrangler JK. In a perfect world, I'd be able to mount a ham radio in-dash, but there doesn't appear to be an empty slot. :/ Does anyone have a recommendation for mounting a transceiver in Jeep JK in a way that doesn't stand out, but is still easy to access? I'...

Re: Bloomberg: Jobs crisis could spark riots here (in USA)

Personal opinion... I don't think they'll be any significant riots right away. If there's long term unemployment and a continued rise in poverty, I suspect we'll see a significant and continued rise in crime - both violent and non-violent like happened in the `70s and `80s (or so I heard; I was busy...

Weapons: -FN Scar in .308 with a suppressor, ACOG, light, quick-remove NVG, and under-mounted grenade launcher. As many magazines and grenades as possible. A grenade or two should handle hostile tribes pretty effectively. -AR7 or similar .22 survival rifle (for small game) -My .357 S&W Revolver - I'...

Stories from the great depression

This is a story that my grandpa used to tell me. My grandpa's dad (my great-grandfather) was a train conductor during the great depression. He had regular work through the entire thing. A lot of people didn't have regular work though, and that includes people who had previously been relatively wealt...

So, dropped my mom off the airport at noon and went to the range. Got a call from her around 3:30. Apparently a plane in Nashville was grounded, one crazy SOB detained, and now all the other passengers, the plane, and all the luggage is getting searched. Just to add something to this whole "Prescription" of Books', 1g of protein per POUND of body weight is an idea put out by body builders, key word here being "builder". This is incorrect. Its put out by the FDA. The general consensus among trainers, dieticians, and medical professionals working wit...

I've seen a lot of "slashproof" clothing for sale on UK websites. Never really looked into it, but it looks like normal t-shirts, hoodies, etc that have enough kevlar woven into them to prevent an attacker from cutting through to skin.
