Re: What are you playing?

Picked up Titanfall for xbox one today, haven't played it yet though. The Last of Us sounds pretty good, definitely want to pick it up. Thinking about pre-ordering Dying Light and Elder Scrolls Online (what'd you think of the beta, btw?) I been trying to decide whether to get this one or not lately...

Isn't this also coming out on the 360?
Yes it is.

Re: Dying Light

I haven't played any of the Dead Islands, might have to pick it up. Is it all run n' kill or survival/scavenge? I absolutely loved New Vegas, but felt like you became over-powered pretty quickly. My favorite part of those types of games (I'll include even Skyrim and the like) is when your strugglin...

Re: Moving from a urban locale to rural, experiences?

I grew up in Western WA, about an hour north of Seattle, and 20 minutes off I-5 into the foothills. It was a quiet, dead-end road and when compared to most other people I knew, I lived "in the sticks". I drove around 35-40 minutes to work every day, going through all the traffic and stuff that every...

Re: 'Alert Thread' to list stores out of or running low on i

Surprised no mention of the huge shortage of .22 lr ammo. Local walmart has little notes posted in the ammo area that they will only sell 3 boxes per customer whenever shipments come in. I haven't seen a single box in Walmart or any local sporting goods store in the past 4 months.

Re: DayZ standalone game

Well, part of the joys of buying a farm and moving out to the sticks - my internet now sucks. Logging in on Dayz and ping is up in the 800-1400 range. Can't even move when logging into Battlefield. Meh...

Re: DayZ standalone game

Crazy man. Don't forget that they added the 30 second 'lag' for signing out now, so be careful logging out when you still have people about. I got on last night, had 2 other people on the server and started looting the NE air base and thought I heard something at one point, but couldn't really tell....

Re: Silver (gold) Stack picture thread

Have a few old coins, but strictly as a hobby idea. Most of my $ is in stocks/real estate/small biz. Very cool youtube vids, pic in OP didn't show up. Because this was supposed to be a picture thread, but instead turned into a bunch of nervous Nellies worried about opsec. So I deleted my OP. The mo...

I have a compass that I use to find direction, and just use a map I pulled off Google. Have gotten lost a couple times, but usually am ok. I'm around the NEAF right now.

Re: DayZ standalone game

Weird twist. I logged out after playing with the new char for a few minutes, ate dinner than came back and logged in, selected a new server and joined. When I spawned into the game, I had my old char again, same gear, and same location I had him last. :ooh: Nice to have my stuff back, but weird as g...

Re: DayZ standalone game

Ahh man, wtf. I just hopped in the game, took forever for the server to load up, by the time I got in the server had a large amount of players, so decided to swap to something less populated. Spawned into next server as NEW CHAR... Lost everything for no reason, damn. Gotta love alpha, eh?

Re: DayZ standalone game

Base building would be cool as would the move to an MMO (just what I need after getting away from 4 years of Lineage 2 lol). And nah, I haven't shot anyone yet, KOS isn't my style anyway.

Re: DayZ standalone game

I agree that the game would still be a lot of fun without zombies and that fellow players will always be the biggest threat. Having a zombie agro on you from 200 yards away is tough to handle as a new spawn with no real weapons. I died multiple times starting out, with each life only lasting a short...

Re: DayZ standalone game

Agreed. I think the weak link in the game, if there is one (in terms of playability experience/quality) is if you find a fireman's axe early on, you can handle pretty much any zombie issue without much problem, than the only thing you need to worry about is people and finding supplies. It's fine hav...

Re: DayZ standalone game

Couldn't wait to get moved into our house and get our desktop out of storage, so decided to download it on the laptop and play around with it a bit. On bare minimum graphics I can get by, definitely not interested in trying to get in any firefights yet, as I'd likely die before they show up on the s...

Re: Group size, Standardization and Friend/Foe indicators.

There really isn't much of a full-proof method out there. The best thing you can do to mitigate the issue is to actively have several methods going on in your advantage. -Keep it out of sight if possible. What people don't know exist, they can't steal. Keep your place 'gray man'. -A wall like a tall...

Re: State of Decay

I've been watching a lot of videos on Youtube from MrBlack0ut81 and Frankie on Dayz Standalone. Looks amazing and seems like everything I'd want in a game. Perma-death I think is an absolute gem for an MMO. You see virtually zero aggressive run-and-gun style play from people (which isn't realistic i...

Re: Group size, Standardization and Friend/Foe indicators.

In SEAL training, situation awareness is a huge part of training, as well as planning. If for example, you and say 10 people were to plan to storm a house. Each group would know how far into the house they will go, to avoid running into other members of the team, to reduce chance of friendly fire. W...
