Shelter for Northern Rockies?

Hey all, I'm putting together a BoB that I want as many things as possible to dual-purpose as backpacking gear, so I get practice using it in the field, and save a bit of money. With that in mind, what shelter system would you recommend for a guy living in the Idaho Panhandle? Winters get damn cold ...

Apparently there are rumors they might make a 7.62x51 version eventually... which I would really want. If it used cheap mags of course.

Does anybody have any idea on MSRP here in the states? (besides if you have to ask you can't afford it... cause that thing looks freaking expensive)

Looking for a new EDC folder

Howdy all, The urge to upgrade my EDC folder has hit again. Actually, I'm still carrying two, technically. I got into carrying two blades constantly. I'm carrying a Skeletool as an everyday tool, and as something that doesn't scare people too much in public. I'm also currently carrying a Cold Steel ...

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.

Has anybody had any experience with these uppers? http://www.pkfirearms.com/FN_Custom_Uppers/193/c

I have a buddy who runs one of their Sabre Defence Customs, and he really likes it.

I really like the look of their FN 18 inch Rifle-length - STAINLESS STEEL - HBAR - YHM 5009 TJ

Thanks.

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.

So, after building my first AR, I've gotten bit by the black rifle disease carrying bug something fierce. I currently have a PSA stripped lower on its way to my FFL. It is eventually destined to turn into a DMR setup, once I accumulate sufficient funds. My goal is for this rifle to have around 1 MOA...

Why not the Glock 34?

Hey guys, So, since pretty much everybody on this site is a Glock fanboy, the question has occurred to me. If you're using a Glock as a bug out gun or a home defense gun, why not go with the Glock 34? I mean, I can see the fact that it's not near as concealable as a 19 or even a 17, but for pure bug...

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.

Along those lines, does anybody know of a place with IN STOCK reasonably priced stripped lowers? By the time I called my FFL, the PSA Blems were already gone, and I'm looking to get three. I've looked at AIM, as well, and their $65 dollar ones are out of stock. Thanks guys. You are way behind the c...

Re: All Purpose Optics and Mounts Thread

Arise, arise!

I have a buddy looking into getting a 1-4x scope for his AR.

What would you guys say is the cheapest 1-4x that is still, you know, good? Clear, durable and holds zero?

Thanks in advance, guys.

Re: Counter Sniper Optics

Gotcha. I did Google, and managed to find surprisingly polarizing reviews. Some folks said they were great, and others (the ones you found) absolutely terrible.

Just wondering if anybody here had hands-on with them.

Sorry, should have clarified before.

Counter Sniper Optics

I promise this is not a dupe thread. The last one with this title got derailed by some dude trying to sell fake Leupolds. So, with that said: Has anyone had experience with counter sniper optics? Particularly, this scope: http://www.countersniperoptics.com/cgistore/store.cgi?page=/new/product.html&s...

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.

Hey everybody, I've been thinking I need a bigger pistol grip for my AR. I currently use a regular MOE, with a glock sock (Read: piece of inner tube) over it. And It just feels too small, and I don't think I have enough purchase on it. I do have pretty big hands, and mainly really really long finger...

Re: Seeting up a sling

Thanks for all the responses guys. Sorry I didn't reply earlier. Life interfered, know what I'm sayin'? My handguard is also a MOE. A midlength one. So, is a stock mount better then an endplate? I really like that IWC mount for the stock. Is there any reason I wouldn't use one of their front mounts ...

Setting up a sling

OK, I need some quick advice on setting up my awesome ARES Armor sling. Currently, I have it through the back loop (yes, the vertical one) on my MOE stock and just a loop of 550 cord through the FSB. It works, but when I try to go prone with it, it twists the rifle like crazy with any degree of tens...

Re: Anyone own a PCC?

A plus uno for the Subbie. I mean, it folds! Mine is really fussy about ammo though. And using the same mags as your sidearm is cool. Especially if they're 33rd glock mags.

I'm with RG on this, though. It's pricier, but get yourself an AR SBR, it's way more versitle. And sexy.

I might actually recdommend a larger flashlight. Why? So it can be used as a weapon, if it ever comes to that. I mean, if you are choosing between two items, and one can be used as a weapon better, that can't be bad, right?
