No info on the steel type, and I haven't done business with this place before, so caveat emptor.

Greetings from Northern VA. Whereabouts are you located, geographically? You'll get more local responses if you include that.
Have fun around here.

Wind Turbine Developments
There are a few new/newer developments in wind turbines that are becoming available and are increasing the efficiency and thus, the viability of wind power. First, is the simple "Wind Lens" which can double or possibly triple the speed of the turbine, meaning you can use smaller blades or in lower w...

Not gear, and it's for the Washington, DC region, but I wanted to put the word out when I saw this:
LivingSocial deal for a Tactical Driving and Firearms Training Experience for $179
Today is the last day for the deal, so buy fast.

Re: Buying Land?
Man, I wish I could find some decent land out here without breaking the bank. In Colorado, if you want anything that has water on/near it you pay premium. The area I want to live in (good schools, near nat'l park but still close to enough to the city we can go out occasionally) is in tiny little .7...

Re: CERT experiences?
A bit of thread resurrection here, but I didn't see a need to start a new thread about CERT. My work, the second largest community college in the US, has just started a College Community Emergency Response Team (C-CERT). Our first class was today, and covered an overview of what we can expect from t...

If you're going to be on the ground floor, having a stack of sandbags around can be REALLY helpful when the water rises from time to time.
Same product, different purpose.

Re: Window Security Film?
My experience is that Security Laminate is like car window tinting: you can do it yourself, but unless you've done it several times, you're best off leaving it to the pros. If you feel confident of your ability to get all those pesky air bubbles out, the here are a few options for the laminate: DIY ...

First, good on ya for getting involved and staying involved!
I'd say forget the paracord, use dental floss. I've found something like a FlossCard fits perfectly into a BOAT.
And let us know what you settle on.
