Re: What are you playing?
I recently discovered 7 Days to Die. It's an excellent mix of survival, crafting, zombie horror, all in a open world kinda format, and its freaking hard. Starting out you will probably keep dying a lot due to starvation, infection, or zombie attacks. It's a indie game with slow development. It's com...

I know its not 9mm Luger but it is "9mm". My jeep handgun is a CZ82. Usually about $250 bucks out the door w/ two mags. Extra mag I think is $30. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CZ_82 Also get a jeep safe such as this. $60 http://www.amazon.com/Bestop-42640-01-HighRock-Wrangler-Driver/dp/B004BWU8H8 You...

Re: When should you report something
There is a good chance that the people posting that themselves are agents and they are trying to get people to post similar things, or to get them to PM them, interested in such things. ^ this probably happens... Edit--- the link i gave earlier was bad. However, I was lead to believe by local repor...

Hope I don't get into trouble for necromancy.... An easier one time pad. An easier way to use a one time pad is to randomly generate a lot of characters you would normally use for your messages. Such as this: W I L A Y B T Q G J E and use it to encrypt this: S P O O K A D E L I C using a tabula rect...

Re: Google Maps and Military Grid and UTM Maps.
How well do your grid lines match up with the divisions on paper maps? Well that depends on what you mean by the divisions on paper maps... If you mean the UTM grids on USGS maps then mine are pretty spot on. Take for example a USGS map... http://ims.er.usgs.gov/gda_services/download?item_id=552727...

Re: Google Maps and Military Grid and UTM Maps.
You can actually use it now, and have been able too for the past few days if you have IE 10 or a later version of Firefox or Google Chrome. However until today IE 8 hasn't been able to use it, I have fixed and tested that, but could use feedback if its not working. So if the maps never worked for yo...

Re: Google Maps and Military Grid and UTM Maps.
I plan on writing up a tutorial sometimes and hosting it at my website, but for now if you want to save the maps for your personal use you can do the following. 1. Add a PDF printer to your printers. Adobe PDF Printer , Primo PDF Printer , etc work. Use Google for other options and full instructions...

Google Maps and Military Grid and UTM Maps.
I was looking to collect maps of my area for a while. They are easy enough to find on USGS sites and others. However, depending on the area they can be old, outdated, inaccurate, or just not have the information you need on them. Google Maps is great but lacks the UTM and MGRS grids that I would lik...

Re: Messenger Bag for Bugging Out?
I use a messenger bag to augment the BOB. In an emergency the plan is to wear the messanger bag at all times. If I become seperated from by BOB and/or BOV I still have the essentials. FAK, Poncho, Water Filter, Money, etc, etc, etc.

Re: Taking Shelter In An Abandoed House
Perhaps talk of when is a home abandoned, and when can you take shelter in a seemingly abandoned home, is too slippery a slope given ZS's rules. However, since people here enjoy the PAW genera, and/or wish to be prepared for the POW, it would be good IMO if there were more guidance (at least discuss...

Re: City or country???
In regards to the question city or country... For me I think the best answer is somewhere in the middle. You don't want the hordes of looters, staving, and desperate people that a city will provide. But I am not the get-off-my-lawn-go-it-alone-country-boy-can-survive type. For me you don't want a ci...

Or in other words, swinging a weapon that is half the weight at twice the speed will exert more energy than swinging a weapon that is twice the weight at half the speed , 100% more energy in fact It also takes 100% more energy to accelerate a weapon at half the weight to twice the speed. Re: Password stolen within hours of joining Zombiesquad
By default Zombie squad doesn't use SSL for login so your browser is sending the password in clear text. This means its possible to sniff. However, Zombie Squad does have SSL (via a self signed certificate enabled) so if you on a public wifi or a weekly encrypted one I would accept ZS's self signed ...

Re: When you see someone with 5.11 Gear or any brand Name Ge
I find this thread fun. There are a lot of legitimate uses for 5.11 gear especially for working folks who need the utility. Just like there is a lot of usefulness for a person wearing designed clothes to look sharp. However many of the other wearers of 5.11 and similar gear, I have taken to calling ...

Re: Sleeping with a gun under your pillow?
No I don't do it, however I have done similar things in the past (young and dumb), like many others before me I wouldn't recommend it. My fear isn't someone breaking into the house and getting me. Yeah its possible, it just doesn't keep me up at night. However if it was to occur, my plan is to move ...

I stockpile a lot of 4 different calibers, and I think this is part of any sensible plan. I think getting together with friends and standardizing and stockpiling is a great idea if you can all agree to it. However, I have lots of firearms that I have accumulated over the ages and so I do keep on han...

After you download the PDF's from the USGS you can take them to staples or your office supply store of choice and get them printed on 24" x 36" poster paper for like 4 bucks in black and white. Its an option.

I gave it a good scan. Focused in on a few parts. I read a lot about radiation, becuase its a topic that gets confusing fast.
