Re: Selling a handgun to someone under 21

For private sales, state residency is irrelevant. ^ To the best of my understanding this statement is incorrect. Neither party is a resident in the state the transaction is taking place in, thus it is an interstate transaction and requires an FFL; but since the recipient is not 21 it cannot be tran...

Re: Loadout ammunition amounts

Here are some figures for common ammo types Interesting tidbits: AK-47 ammo weighs about 1 pound for every 27 rounds where as .22 ammo is 133 rounds per lb. So basically you could carry 100 rounds of AK ammo which is around 3.6lbs or 500 rounds of .22 at 3.7 lbs. lol maybe the .22 survival gun enth...

Re: Southpaw AR Reciever?

So for the AR experts, does anyone make left sided ejection port lower recievers? My boss is a lefty and is in the market for an AR. Thanks for any assistance guys. I've seen upper receivers that are left handed, but I admit I've never thought to look if the lower was left handed as well. Any chanc...

Re: What's the deal with "pre-ban" guns?

IANAL, but apparently, if a gun was made before the ban, one can still have those multiple features. (i've been toying with the idea of a pre-ban 10/22 so i can get one of those spiffy folding stocks for it. i've done zero research on price difference, but i know its there. especially for ar-type r...

Re: What I would like to see a gun company build

Marlin Camp 9 to be brought back I didn't know that had killed it. Crap, I've never fired mine, does that mean I shouldn't now? IIRC Production stopped on the camp carbine for the same reasons ruger cited for ending production of their PC 9 carbine; low demand. There's nothing wrong with them that ...

Well, I know Colt recently released (this year IIRC) a multi-caliber AR for both .308 and 5.56; http://cdn5.thefirearmsblog.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/le901_16s-tfb.jpg Colt LE901-16S Multi-Caliber Carbine: http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2012/01/16/colt-le901-16s-multi-caliber-carbine/"...

Re: What's the deal with "pre-ban" guns?

Thanks for the replies. I guess my question is did that guy really think he was gonna be able to sell that rifle when anybody could get the same rifle at another table for $1000 less? I'm almost thinking he paid a huge amount for it during the ban years and was now hoping some other schmuck would b...

Re: What's the deal with "pre-ban" guns?

Last Sunday I went to a gun show in my town. (Got a pretty good deal on an XD .40 cal.) Of course there was a guy at a table selling a pre-ban rifle or two for a really high price. There always is. I thought since the assault weapons ban ended back in 2004 these rifles wouldn't be worth that much. ...

Re: More ammo or more guns?

Right now I have 3 guns in my arsenal. A 12 gauge shotgun A .22 rifle A 9mm pistol I would like to add more to my collection. Primarily a larger caliber bolt action rifle and a carbine. However I am spending a lot of money on ammo and can't afford a new gun right now. Each month I spend about $150 ...

Re: Please educate me on the saiga .223 rifle

Are these rifles ones I should inspect for QC like an SKS, or is it pretty safe to buy them online? Well it is ALWAYS wise to inspect any significant purchase; but buying a freshly imported, unconverted Saiga is not like buying a surplus SKS that was mothballed for several decades in warehouse crat...

Re: Pistol caliber hunting question

Basically, I am trying to save myself the time of looking up the game regs for 48 states (already familiar with AZ and CO). I don't plan to live in AZ forever and am too poor to repurchase if I choose to move to OR or WV or ID, etc. So what does your state allow? Fairly cut and dried in Oregon, not...

Re: Pistol caliber hunting question

So I am looking at acquiring a lever action/revolver set for field use for medium to large game (think pigs/javelina up to elk -at appropriate ranges-and black bear). My question is: which caliber would be the best choice to use anywhere in the USA? .357 mag or .44 mag. I am not recoil sensitive bu...

To redirect this back to pocket carry, I've noticed that through this post the size of the guns in question or becoming more interested in discussing have been trending larger - it started with 380 hate, and has grown to the realm of the G26/Shield both substantially larger than the 380's originall...

Sage INTL telescoping stock? (TS870/TS590)

I've been saving my pennies to purchase some parts I've had my eye on, but I can't seem to find a TS870 or TS570 telescoping stock for sale anywhere. I'm seem to remember seeing them for around $100, but that was about a decade ago. I'm hoping to spend less than $200 on this single part (far less in...

IIRC there's a drop-in 7.62x25mm tokarev conversion for the .38 super frame 1911 also. .38 super frame for the conversion is necessary due to the length of the cartridge. ...might be fun, but you probably already know about it. :oh: 9x23 9x21 9x19 + 7.62x25? Everyone needs a Coltarev / Tokacolt.
