Re: 5 Reasons not to eat your dog during the zombie apocalyp

Very cool. What kind of dogs are they? Look like Dutch Shepherd mixes.

Re: Random Question: CCW pants

Plus I'm 6'4" and about 170 pounds, so the only time I can conceal anything bigger than a NAA mini in a IWB holster worth half a damn is the depth of winter. I know several people with very similar builds to you (thinner, actually) who routinely carry fullsize or compact pistols IWB without a probl...

I haven't tried Warsteiner's yet, I'll have to track some down.

Hacker-Pschorr also puts out a great Oktoberfest.

Stay away from loading weight into his pack for now. Being that young, he's still developing physically and doesn't need extra stress on his joints. Wearing an empty pack is probably a good idea, just to get him used to it. If you're not familiar with marker training, look into it. Easiest, most eff...

Re: Tactical Pup

I love shelter dogs, but I certainly would not mind putting down a few hundred for a pure bred German Shepard! I have a friend that got a papered Shepard for $200-$300 (don't remember the exact cost)... If only I could find a deal like that! From a breeder or a rescue group? Well bred GSDs from a b...

Re: Tactical Training Films

Their shotgun DVD is pretty good, albeit with their usual over-the-top intensity. I think they do a good job explaining the pro and cons of a shotgun depending on your situation. Other than that, I've heard that Sony Puzikas has some good DVDs, but the presentation is kinda lousy. I've only seen cli...

Re: New to Me: Walther PPK/S!

Sounds like a good deal. My brother has one, and they are cool little guns. Only downside is that they can be flat out abusive on bigger hands.

And as my brother says, the advantage of carrying 007's gun is obvious; you never have to reload, you just straighten your tie

Re: WarHammer 40k?

It's a very fun game, but GW prices keep getting higher. The same exact squad of models is now twice what I used to pay for it when I got into this back around 2000. Check out ebay, amazon, craigslit, etc. You can find some poorly painted minis people are getting rid of, and stripping the paint is p...

Re: Gen3 vs. Gen4 Glocks

My understanding was that the 4th generation were primarily designed with the .40 S&W in mind, and so the recoil springs might not have cycled the 9mm versions as well as they should. I'm not sure how acurate this is, or if the problem has been addressed, only relating what I'd found in doing resear...

Re: Serbu "Super Shorty" - Practical Firearm or Gimmick?

I've often wondered if something like the SSS would be perfect for flyfishing in AK. 12g slugs have been standard bear deterrent for almost ever, and here's a solution that's small enough to carry in the stream with you, have 3 rounds ready to go, and still be handy enough if you have to use it. Gr...

I carry a Victorinox Trekker pretty much all the time. I carry that because I tend to use or need the tools on that model. Everybody has different needs and preferences, so just pick out what works best for you.

Re: Jentra Klip draw for Glocks

I looked at those too, but like everyone else I guess, the exposed trigger creeps me out. I needed a holster/solution that was easy on/off in the car before and after work. I wanted good enough retention but ability to draw without pulling the whole damn holster out of my pants too. I shopped aroun...

Glock 17 for home/open carry, Glock 30 for CCW. Both are great pistols.

Last few episodes I've actually been rooting for Jay. I was getting a kick out of the fact that a few elitist pricks were making a big deal of him not being military, but he kept winning, fucked up stances and all. At this point, I don't care who wins, as long as it's not the douchenozzle "sniper" g...

Re: Glock 27 vs. Glock 19

The only issue I've encountered with a Glock mag extension ( a Glock 17 mag with a +2) is that at least 50% of the time, the pistol won't end up in slide lock after finishing the mag. To me, with a 19rd magazine and using it mostly at the range, it's not a big deal. In a smaller Glock with less ammo...

Never had any trouble with mine in the ~2years they've been on my rifle.

If you're planning on using an optic on your carbine, the MBUS would be a great choice. If you'll just use sights, spend the extra money for the Troy.
