Re: Zombie Science! It Could Happen!

yeah, fast moving scrambler Zombies with enough cognition enough to do a bit more than shuffle around are terrifying. the upside would be that they would be able to be stopped by any normal means of dispatching a person we have now correct? so they'd likely die off from starvation/no water in a matt...

Re: 1959 Jeep project

sweet looking jeep. good looking dog. glad to see you making progress. are you gonna wire in your own secondary fuse block for accessories like a stereo with a pair of speakers, Comm. Radio, flood lights, etc? I do like how stupid easy the wiring is on these older vehicles. I've built engine swap ha...

Re: Street Legal Motorcycles for $2K-$3K

Here and I was going to offer you my ZRX1200R for $3K... This thread is starting to remind me of the "Why buy an AK/AR when you could have this! (POS PCC)" thread. The OP's bike has too many zeros on the price tag. Far better options exist in the stated price range. Too many to list, actually, so I...

Re: Street Legal Motorcycles for $2K-$3K

off topic, but I love that site, I also love seeing the DS conversions guys do to other bikes. there was a guy on there who converted a honda CX500 of all things, looked like it rode pretty well till the engine shit the bed on him. I've also seen pictures of guys take FL harleys around the world. yo...

Re: Street Legal Motorcycles for $2K-$3K

agreed, $3K on a used, cared for KLR over $3K for a sketchy, fly by night, Zero aftermarket or OEM support chinese 'bobber' should be a no-brainer. of course if you're looking at a small displacement bobber, someone's suggestion of a rebel 250 is hard to pass up as well. http://bluecollarbobbers.com...

always nice to see a 72hr kit that is built well, without being super expensive. I like that everything in the kit seems to be able to be purchased from (insert local big box discount retailer here). 500+ miles is a damn long walk, I also second coming up with a barter item/cash to stuff in the bag ...

Re: Street Legal Motorcycles for $2K-$3K

I agree with this guy^^^

I'd be looking at any of the newer 250-450 range bikes if I were concerned with MPGs.

I don't think that thing would last long before it needed maintenance.

6 month Update and Review

Normally I'm not one to Necro a thread, but I felt no need to start a new one. I wanted to say that after 6 months, I still love this little guy as much as the day I found it in the mail. it's a rugged little knife that has been beyond useful. so I have the following to add. PROS: -Durability This k...

was at work today and had my bird and trout knife (made out of a Kawasaki break down kit 22mm wrench by a forum member for me about 6 months ago, WORKS GREAT BTW) on me because I got called in unexpectedly and ran over immediately from clearing brush and doing some outside chores for someone else in...

WOW!!! Good luck with the continued recovery TT. That scar is totally awesome. You just need a good legend to go with it. Like fighting off pirates in the south seas or being attacked by rabid weasels or something. Looks like you had a good trauma team. How far from home was the hospital? I dunno, ...

I use what's called a rigger's axe. straight handle, longer than an average hatchet and it has a hammer head on the back. great camp tool.

haha, that's awesome. I more or less grew up here at the intersection of 9th st and 11th ave NE. I moved away to AZ for a while and moved back and saw that there were a lot less geese around the lake. wonder if it had to do with me beligerently telling everyone I saw in every bar I went that the gee...

yes, I'm surprised they haven't tried to push it here in the mainland a bit more.

my wife never had it before she met me, she loves it as long as I never tell her what's in it.

anyone here ever had scrapple before? it's pretty good too.

I think you might be less impressed once you get there. also, Austin, MN isn't much to behold either. it's kinda fun when you're a kid. the gift shop just sells a lot of stuff with the logo on it. and I like pan fried spam and cucumber and carrot chunks rolled up into a sushi roll with rice and seaw...

South Eastern Minnesota PRO: all of the pro's listed by the gentleman from Iowa, you can pretty much chew something, spit it on the ground and kick dirt over it, and whatever it was will be sprouting in 2 weeks during growing season. beef jerkey tree and chewing tobacco bush in the back yard are tes...

wow, you need to call up Nerf and tell them you have a prototype for a new nerf launcher.

and then after you get paid from Nerf, you need to go buy me a Ruf CTR2 and ship it here to the US.

Kthx!

yes, but my hair that is less than an inch long is harder still to grab, takes all of 1 minute to comb through for unwanted critters, requires minimal soap to keep clean and isn't nearly the burden 10 times as much hair would be.

Re: Strictly Multitools

As a side note, apparently the Leatherman Wave does not have a lanyard ring. This came as a surprise to me as I generally expected multitools to have them, although I never used it. Now I can use it, and I don't have one. It does. It is hidden in the end of the handle. You slide it out after you op...

batteries typically last longer than a cellular phone, if you buy one and learn how to use a tachymeter you can more or less calculate speed over distance. a watch is sort of like a chain wallet, it's a style thing nowadays. I prefer to wear a watch because I don't like having my cell phone on me ev...
