Re: War Belt / Battle Belt Holsters and Mounting Options

I've heard a ton of stuff about not wearing a fixed blade on your body, but I also listen to stories told by my grandfather who survived Saipan, Tinian, Leyete, and Iwo who will argue that the only reason he survived was because of his K-bar and several very close calls with it. I know everything is...

So, you got 1000rds ammo. Put it away or shoot it. What are you freaking about. If you think he's a crook, report him. If you think he's legit, buy more.

Re: Scout v. Hunting Rifle

I'm going to show my stupidity here, but if you're in an urban environment, unless you're aiming down the freeway, how many 700yd engagements are you going to be in? I live in a very rural area, but because of the lay of the land and woods/obstacles, I can't look in any one direction and see an unin...

Re: Fictional consolidation of calibers

The spreadsheets on +400 guns would be daunting enough unless you start commonalizing various calibers, and then what's the point of having +400? I'd stick with the generic calibers and worry more about how to find more ammo rather than reloading. I haven't seen any zombie flicks where folks were wa...

Re: Help Finding the Right Body Armor

Yeah, the first thing to figure out is what you believe you will be threatened by. I don't know the actual stats, but I'd guess 99% of you're threats will be pistol and if that's the case then a lev 2-3-3a vest will do you just fine. If you are paranoid, like I am, and always ask yourself, "what if?...

I'm not trying to upsell for a dealer, but I'd go with bulletproofme.com. I bought a blackhawk carrier with balcs soft inserts and 2 in-conjunction plates and am extremely happy with all. The one thing they stress is knowing what you're likely to face. I bought the carrier for pistol threats, but ha...

was cleaning and organizing my store room this weekend and realized i had an over abundance of ammo..particularly 45-70.. about 4500 rounds of it.. my question is should i just sell a portion of it or would it be worth holding on to? How do you think the glock 19 would carry in a under arm holster like so? The glock 26? http://www.buyholsters.com/files/1871775/uploaded/Galco%20Miami%20Classic%20II%202.jpg Granted, it would be under my shirt, but I think reaching through a button up, and breaking a few buttons in the process, wo...

Re: Limiting your Cache to Three Calibers...

I'll point out a factor here , the whole question can be quite location dependent , as an example my place in the North Country ( N/W side of Kodiak Island) has five loadings present for when I am in residence............44 mag , which is completely indispensable. In those environs you *do not* eve...

Re: My new flash hiders

Aluminum won't last long, especially for rapid fire. They look really cool, but until I see a reliable round count, effectiveness test for flash suppression, I have to wait until someone does a torture test; plus I would need them to be compatible with my Gemtech's. I say torture test because the be...

Ok, you're talking to mister fitness here who hasn't been in his target weight since his first kegger in 1992, but back when I actually was an athlete, the first thing you need is flexibility. This is the foundation, because if your joints and muscles aren't flexible, you will suffer pulls, strains,...

Re: When the "system" starts eating the pieces...

Only way they could do this is if there were a pre-existing contract with the city/town/county, where it was stipulated that if the local resources were insufficient to handle an emergency, then the private firm would be justified/validated, or in a sense "deputized" to handle it. If that's the case...

My opinion, if you have the money to hire private security for any amount of time, you probably already have hired them in the past and know who they are, what they can do, and how much they can help. The history of mercenaries is what is for a reason... My thoughts exactly. Anyone with the resourc...

For real survival game-gathering, I'm all about trapping. Snares and conibear traps will do a lot more good than any gun. Could you recomend any manufacturers? I just recently planted an orchard (apples, lemons, limes[yeah, we're making PAW sprite], and olives), and soon will put in a raised garden...

Who has actual experience with any of these "shitty" products? I have a FAB TAL-4 VFG. IMHO it's very well made/sturdy/GTG. I don't use it because unfortunatly I bought it before I realized I can't stand VFG's, but if I did use them, I wouldn't hesitate mounting it. Can't speak about anything else ...
