Re: PSA Ar-15

I'm looking at two palmetto state armory ar-15's to purchase. The asking price is 800 for each, according to friends it seems to be a fair price. They are brand new, with midwest industries upper recievers. I've seen similar models on gunbroker for 700 on average. I welcome any opinions or input. 1...

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.

So, for a range-gun and coyote gun....would the cheap PSA upper be sufficient? They had a complete upper (with BCG and charging handle) for a Daily Deal the other day, 309$ So with my lower, I could have complete AR for right at 500$ When I decide to go forward with the BCM build, I could sell the ...

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.

It's a PSA rifle. The box says PSA-MOE CL and has the serial from the lower printed on the box as well. The rifle itself has a PSA M4 upper with PSA (FN) barrel and the lower has a PSA marked carbine buffer. BCG is unmarked but M16 type, chrome lined, shrouded firing pin, we'll staked gas key, etc ...

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.

It was a complete PSA rifle I bought at a LGS, in a PSA box and everything. I really do appreciate you offering to do that but I already got the parts from brownells and installed on the rifle. Wrenched down the castle nut and it went about 1/4" past their original staking mark, leading me to belie...

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.

Did something stupid. Was playing with my rifle and noticed the receiver extension was rotating back and forth. Started twisting it off by hand and seem to have sheared some of the threads off the tube. End plate popped off, detent spring went flying, damaging the spring beyond repair. Buffer tube ...

Re: HD & SHTF rifle for under $600

Just my opinion, but having no jams in 200-300 rounds does not prove a rifle is reliable, unless maybe you did not clean it once during those rounds. For me, one jam in 1000 rounds is pretty reliable. No jams in the history of the weapon is preferable, and happens with both ARs and AKs. And I know ...

Re: HD & SHTF rifle for under $600

I'm switching sides from team SKS to team PSA on this thread. The SKS would be a fine choice for a lot of people, but the AR can grow and change as you get more money and want to do different stuff. Edit: I wasn't aware that they were this cheap now Right on buddy. As you have seen, the SKS can be ...

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.

So I am finishing up getting the parts for my first AR pistol. All I have left is the buffer and buffer parts. I am trying to decide between a standard carbine buffer tube or a pistol tube. Anybody here want to help me decide? I have a few pros and cons. Standard Buffer - Pros Cheaper maybe... Can b...

Well fuck me with a spoon. I went all last night without seeing that, and misunderstood what Knifestyle was asking. So that's a better deal than I thought. Here I was thinking I was a dumb-ass  Yes, PSA does not even carry a "PSA' upper that is not Chrome Lined. Some of the PTACs are not lined...

Re: 7 Worst Rookie Prepper Mistakes

I'm surprised that being incredibly lopsided in terms of preps didn't make the list. For instance having enough guns, ammo and mags to arm an infantry platoon, but not enough food and water for your family to make it a month. That seems to come up quite a bit for newbie preppers and be a recurring ...

Understood Doctorr....I do not care if they make a profit :)

Perhaps I am test firing it for them so far it has passed...jk mine came with 2 paper targets showing the test fire groups...

IDK. These rifles (ARs) are essentially parts of a whole anyway, I am quite satisfied.

Re: $399 new AR-15

I am trying to figure out how PTAC can possibly offer uppers at that price, even if they are not the average. If I had to guess, $100 for the BCG, and charging handle, I purchased a PTAC upper with melonite coated barrel. It is quite nice. For Edit: 299 I got an upper with a Midwest Industries ssg1...

Re: PSA Stripped Lower for $49.99

It is a good deal. And Anderson Manufacturing makes good stuff. But alas, after the shipping, $65+ transfer fee, state tax, and Dealer Record Of Sale paperwork, we are looking at $110-ish for us poor bastards in California. The only way this makes any sense is if we ordered them by the dozen to cut...

Re: Wildness First Aid/ First responder or regular FA/FR

A Wilderness First Responder or Emergency Medical Responder w/ wilderness is a step above a basic FA. They are technically not CPR certified, this is separate.

They are the same as a First Responder or EMR in training except they have a remote rescue/wilderness component to their training.
