Very cool video.
Here is my Seek Outside and SXL Stove last weekend.
I have the same Ti Pot that you can see in the video. I love it. Great size for any application.

Tape/Pressure switch - yeay or nay
I recently updated my outdated Surefire 6P light with Malkoff M61 LED Conversion, that brought it into this century claiming to provide over 300lumens output. Question is, do I keep it with tail switch or add a pressure switch. Primary Arms has one that fits great: http://www.primaryarms.com/primary...

Re: Looking for reasonably priced custom sheath maker.
Hey Walker,
I have a couple of knives that I would like to makes sheaves for. They all will be pretty much same configuration.
Knife, ferro rod, maybe pouch for tinder.
One of them is Buck Vanguard.
Then, probably my Esees.

Woods, This is a great and a very educational post as always. I am going to search out all your previous tipi posts again, as I am soon to be an owner of one. I have a tip and stove on order from Seek Outside. 6 Person tipi: https://seekoutside.com/6-person-tipi-sxl-stove-half-liner-bundle/ SXL Sto...

I am afraid so. :( I wish there was any contact info for his wife and family. He was a major contributor, a walking storybook, and overall an incredible guy. He made a great impact on many people here. It is said to see him go into oblivion. I wish there was some sort of a ZS tribute to him. I have ...

Re: CipherNameRaven's spantanious AT Solo trip
Thanks, everyone. By the way, I gotta say - Mora knives are best camping knives. I abandoned all my semi-expensive ones for these great beaters. | I need to practice starting fires with natural kindling. I tried it. But after 10 minutes, I gave up and reached for the vseline cotton balls. Also, I sc...

Thanks for the ideas. Started to work on a prototype. http://i988.photobucket.com/albums/af3/ciphernameraven/20151108_164058_zpsv7kp5rws.jpg Cotton ball dispenser. Works the same way as intended. Pack it with petroleum jelly soaked cotton balls. Twist to dispense. http://i988.photobucket.com/albums/...

Re: CipherNameRaven's spantanious AT Solo trip
Well done though I would dislike packing my USMC two man over the AT. I agree 100%. So what happened was... Weekend before this trip was suppose to be a camping trip with 3 other buddies of mine to a private 500 acre woods, with guns, gear, etc. We were suppose to camp, run drills, and go on patrol...

Re: CipherNameRaven's spantanious AT Solo trip
This is my favorite alcohol stove. I made and tested several different ones, starting from penny stove to 93cent cat food can stoves. I like penny stoves for being small and indestructible, but it requires a stand. Cat food once are awesome for being cheap, simple, and very effective. But, they are ...

Re: CipherNameRaven's spantanious AT Solo trip
The thought crossed my mind. But, since it was not a survival situation, and I had plenty of food, I decided against traps.
They were the only ones that provided me with some entertainment. I had one eating bannock out of my hand, but the video came out dark and grainy.

CipherNameRaven's spantanious AT Solo trip
This was kind of a spontaneous trip. I shot this video with my phone camera. Since, I do not really like the sound of my own voice, I replaced it with subtitles and some light music by Neil Young. I don't specifically like Neil Young, but it seemed to fit. Enjoy, let me know what you think. http://w...

Guys,
Thank you very much!
@Rock6 I love that collection. They do look great. But, for utilitarian use, I definitely like your Mora mod.
@drop bear This is exactly what I was looking for! You are the man!
I am going to start on my mod this weekend.

Knife/fire steel rig
I have many knives, such as Esee, Mora, CRKT, Gerber, etc. For camping and bushcraft I prefer Mora. It is cheap. I can abuse it and not feel bad about. If I loose it, I wont cry about it. I have couple of different firesteels. Simple ones, and those more expensive ones that come in their own case an...

So, SKD is running a 48 hour flash sale on exactly the carrier that I was thinking. Crypto,
Good call on extra half size. My regular size and half size bigger came in today. I decided to keep the bigger size as it feels like it fits better with Thinsulate and optional thicker sock. It's a thick boot for sure.
