Re: Gunvault Micro Opening Itself

I got some video tonight; its not very good since I shot it myself but I think it demonstrates the issue. I will let Gunvault know about it; I don't really care if they replace it but I guess they really need to know about it and hopefully they will want to take a look at it. http://www.youtube.com/...

Gunvault Micro Opening Itself

I've had a Gunvault Micro for a little less than three years. Its the really small one that can fit in desk drawers, under furniture etc. Mine is the one with the button combination, not the biometric system. Anyway, I found today that it "opens itself" quite reliably with just a few seconds of mode...

Re: Iran Nukes

The immediate consequence of a major strike on Iranian oil production is definitely going to be felt by Americans. Higher gas price, food price, and market reactions both to that and to all the other economic instability created by the prospect of a much larger scale conflict. Iran acquiring a nucle...

Re: Global Debt Time Bomb explodes soon

Note the Fed says they EXPECT rates to stay low until 2014. They go out of their way to not say rates WILL stay low. They are simply providing their opinion and making no promises of any kind. They may stay low for much longer. Inflation is one way to forestall the reckoning still to come in the US...

Re: A few questions about the $299 Saigas

Yes it takes AK-74 mags out of the box. 922r doesn't have anything to do with unmodified Saigas, until you put a high-cap magazine on it that is a sporting rifle. Once you do that though, you are bound. It doesn't matter if the high-cap magazine is made in the USA or not, you would have to get under...

Re: Global Debt Time Bomb explodes soon

Germany should be the last country to pull out of the Euro. They practically run the central bank. Right, unless they decide they are paying for everyone else. Germans getting a tax hike to bail out Greeks isn't very popular. Right, but since they run the bank there is no reason for that to happen.

I would like one in 7.62x39 that uses ak mags, but from how the mag release works that might not be possible.

It does take AK mags. My guess is they still rock and lock though.

Semi-auto Uzi just doesn't scream "fun" to me - I wouldn't mine shooting one but my vote is for the Redhawk.

Re: Long distance bug out chance of survival?

The whole route is well populated and has lots of restaraunts, grocers and gas stations where you can buy food with paper or plastic money. You might consider a bus ticket though - that would be a lot cheaper than buying all the food you'd need to get you that distance on foot.

If they can make it here and sell it for under $1500 color me interested, though I'd be more likely to be interested in the 5.56 version.

It is my opinion that everybody but me should always buy the least proven option available. That's how they become proven, for guys like me, who wait for a system to become proven before buying one. Mi pisani in Italia have been using the ARx-160 Afghanistan and find it to be reliable. Re: Global Debt Time Bomb explodes soon

I've read the critical point for Italy is the cost of borrowing going above 8%, but that leaves them no room to lose tax revenues which could happen as the European economy cools further. France is really not the one to watch at this point.

I doubt it will ever be imported. It would have to be neutered first.

Re: Iran Nukes

The Kuznetsov visit was announced back in November - before all this Strait of Hormuz talk was underway. I think that anything Russia and China would see as an "unprovoked" attack on either Syria or Iran could be the start of a pretty bad day.

Re: Global Debt Time Bomb explodes soon

This comes off as a little sensational but there is no doubt it is very tough times in Greece right now. I think this is maybe what the beginning of a true debt crisis looks like, and I don't know if there is any way out for them. I think we are seeing the beginning of what will be a slow but seriou...

Re: Iran Nukes

I hope that is just posturing and contingency planning. If anyone actually expects to need that kind of missile defense frigate there then it is a very serious shooting war they are preparing for. Well, to be fair, the Daring is a small defensive vessel. It's there to pick any stray MiG's or F-14's...

Re: Keltec's New Bullpup Shotgun

As near as I can tell the Sub-2K is more or less unique. I'm not aware of any type of carbine with a stock that will fold to under 20" - the Sub is 16" right? Some SBR you could make from a pistol like can get there, sure. But as far as a rifle that you can buy in just about in any state without a s...
