2 years isn't even close to being considered long term .... except for the obvious, like fresh veggies/fruits and meats, almost all retail grocery shelf items are 3-5 years .... canned goods, stored at room temps or lower and cans from humidity, will last a decade plus without problems .... don't le...

throw a few handfulls of lead shot into the can and slosh it around to remove the crusty rust ..... remove shot and pour in the rust remover ..... rotate the can every couple of days so a new side faces down ....

something to keep in mind .... if you are prepped and have food supplies for a SHTF .... need to watch your trash disposal during an event as not to break OPSEC .... last thing you need is starving neighbors or trash picking wanders seeing your tossed Rice a Roni boxes ....
