Re: Concealed carry guns for a smaller friend?

Surprised nobody else has chimed in about a chest-pack to carry the pistol yet. Would alleviate the weight problems and concealment, meaning the main focus would be shooter comfort. A bit late to the party, but this. A Glock 19 or 26 with a RCS Vanguard 2 in a Hill People Gear chest pack works grea...

+1 to the Monkey Butt powder, especially if you're going to put it somewhere other than your feet and you have sensitive skin.

Re: Home invasion.... Where did this guy go wrong?

Where did he go wrong? He fell in love with some heroic fantasy instead of putting in work. Fantasy met reality, and somehow he found reality less pleasant than playing Rambo in his head. Physically and mentally, he was not prepared, end of story. Erase and correct; he not only put zero effort into ...

Photon II - http://www.photonlight.com/led-flashlig ... lashlight/

Gave out several for Christmas, and picked one up for myself. Everyone (including me) was surprised both at how small it is and how bright it is. Watch out for fakes on Amazon.

TDW beat me to it. Other than that I was going to suggest the PD 32 from Fenix.

Re: Attemped mugging or assault?

Most of what I was going to say has already been said, but just a couple points on public bathroom tactics. First, if someone really wants to assault you, a stall can be your tomb, but if you're looking to minimize (though not necessarily eliminate, as pointed out in Blacksmith's personal example) g...

Re: Legally non-lethal weapons?

I thought he was asking about ways to deter an attacker that weren't likely to cause injury or death - he mentioned a flashlight, but specifically said he was talking about using the beam to blind or disorient, and not using it as a striking weapon or kubotan. Maybe he should chime in and let us kn...

Re: Legally non-lethal weapons?

I think what the OP is looking for are seemingly innocuous, everyday items that can be used as weapons, but that won't be looked upon negatively by the police. He feels that although item X is legal to own/carry/use for defense, and even though he used item X in a legally justifiable case of self de...

Re: Legally non-lethal weapons?

That's heavily dependent on location. In a castle law state, it's up to the prosecution to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that you weren't justified, not for you to prove you were. Agreed. That is how my state is. I can pull my weapon on anyone who breaks into my home, but I'm not allowed to shoo...

Re: Legally non-lethal weapons?

Your question/example combo is faulty. You're asking what objects can be used to inflict some level of damage on someone without getting charged with a felony. If I'm justified in using the object because I'm defending myself, why would I get charged with anything? Your newly stated example is of g...

I say you just failed at trying to be smart. I say your question was poorly stated . I just deleted my entire post based on your edit, and my original post was along the same lines as TacAir's. Your question/example combo is faulty. You're asking what objects can be used to inflict some level of da...

Re: Securing Sliding Glass Doors

I was watching a little bit of Best Defense once, and Janich talked about how easy it is to pop the doors out of the track. He suggested basically putting the "up, over, down" type door locks across the tops to prevent this. If you freeze this video at the 9 second mark, you can see a picture of wh...

Re: Breaking into your own car... that YOU own.

I understand that not everybody has a key fob dealie, and some cars lock automatically and such, but my solution is to just never lock it with anything but the key fob. I get out (leaving the door unlocked), shut the door, and then push the lock button on my fob. If the key + clicker is in my hand, ...

Vinny 76 - Essentially, his method goes as follows: - Bring the weapon into what many call your "work space." Up in front of your face like you're going to do a magazine change. - Roll the weapon inboard such that you're looking at your trigger finger, approximately. [That one's a bit hard to descr...

Plus a wonderful feature of the SA XD's is their loaded chamber indicators. I reach over in the dark and grab the pistol from my nightstand, and I am 100% certain if there is a round in the chamber or not, based on weather the loaded chamber indicator is sticking up or not. I don't have to see it, ...

The worst offender I have seen so far was a fella wearing the ( If I'm lyin I'm Dying) 5.11 Tactical KILT! With a thigh rig and a 'HK SOCCOM" ( freaking USP tactical, not a MK23  ). I can't quite picture this setup. Was the thigh rig under the kilt, or did he somehow strap it on over the kilt?

Does she wear the skinny girl jeans, or could she jam a pistol down them in the AIWB position?
