Very nice looking. I'm all too familiar with the blue tarp being on the west side too. Could you ballpark what your total cost is?

Re: Ruger Gunsite Scout

Ran my on Sunday, Mossberg Patrol .308 and so for I like it. Was knocking a hostage swinger plate at 200 yrds reliably using Remington USMC 147. It was grouping around 1.5-2 inch at 100 yards with a 10 shot string. I wasn't taking my time either as much as I should. Factory mag and P Mag worked grea...

I do love Kroil as a penetrating oil. The only oil i've found that will creep out of its own can.
Otherwise synthetic motor oil for cheap stuff because I save all my old.

Re: The use of copper containers to kill pathogenics in wate

I'm more interested in amount of surface area needed of copper "copper %" for X amount of contaminated water "depending on saturation of contamination." That be some serious shit science. Example: Can I simply throw in pieces of copper into a Nalgene bottle to kill bacteria over X period of time? Ed...

Re: MP Shield Overview and comparison

Going to go against the crowd and say the Shield trigger is NOT as good as the standard M&P. I could care less about reset distance. Trigger is heavier and the break is not crisp. Granted I have 2000 through my 9mm M&P while the Shield has around 500. So more break in may change that. But so far I d...

If baby is on the way and you don't have a lot of time to practice, reloading will mean you have NO time to practice/ shoot. Don't put all your eggs in one basket with one caliber. Keep the AK and a AR.

Re: Can't pick a survival knife

The best knife is the one you carry all the time and know how to use. I'm a huge fan of a nice semi large folder for EDC, when law restrictions allow. I like Cold Steel Tri Ad locks with a 3-4" blade length. Offers decent protection, good EDC and can be pushed into more fixed blade roles such as bat...

Should I buy the mini or the squeeze? I already have four life straws and a MSR miniworks and I'm looking for a camp spot/group gravity filter rig. I imagine two 3-4 litter bladder and one of the two filters and I'll be g2g?

Read a lot of reviews on the Knoxx stocks first.

I've never owned one but I've heard that it'll just redirect the recoil into your face basically rather than into your shoulder. Your mileage may very.

Re: My Issues with Herters and Steel Case ammo

Worst I've heard of is some 7.62x54R that was poorly made and corrosive to the internal of the case. Weakening it over time and could cause splits or ruptures.

I still trust steel ammo though.

Went to the range, guy had a suppressed .300 Blackout 16". Let me fire a mag at my steel at 110 yards. Gotta say I like, blow back was kind annoying but I dug it. The thing was printing a 2" group at 100.

Disregard.

I was thinking of the .750" Gas Block Diameter.

As for the actual gas port I'm not sure unless someone is willing to remove their gas block and mic it.
Whatever size it is, seems to work fine for steel cased.

Just throwing it out there. My PTAC upper is still going strong. Over 2k so far, I can only afford so much. Mostly Brown Bear and M855 and if anything I've been running it on the dry side. No jams, only problems were cheap cheap mags not liking to lock open on last round or the Plum Crazy lower I ha...

I'd like to see that MOUT rig you modded. I have one hanging in the closet loaded up, all I've done to it is sewn down the lower straps so I can actually wear it without folding up.

Keep your eyes out for the newer Marlins. I've heard less than great things on the fit and finish of the newer Remington owner ones. A lot of horror stories about the quality and terrible CS now.
