Re: Question

why do you carry 3 days worth of stuff, why not more or even less ? All the above answers :) Plus an emphasis on "what may be right for one person, may not be right for you". I read this site http://www.theplacewithnoname.com/blogs/klessons/p/0001.html , thankfully, before I started spending money....

Hehe, you made me log in for the first time in a while. There's another site....and in no way do I want to diminish Raptor's experience...or his original post...BUT...I'm going to put this out there in the interest of helping others be more prepared. There's a site, at http://www.theplacewithnoname....

You mentioned watching Katrina unfold...I, too, watched it and later found a site that is in my Signature Line where a guy details what he did...how he did it "wrong"...and what he did to rectify that "wrongness". Pretty good timeline of the whole Katrina Event. It's the one with the PlaceWithNoName...

Re: Make sure you have a carbon monoxide detector

I heard a news story a week or so ago that covered children sleeping through a "normal" smoke detector as it went off. The story I saw had night vision cameras with sound...the alarm went off and the children kept on sleeping. Then they showed the video of the smoke alarm with a voice telling the ch...

Good Show, Zitheran ! Taking that first step can be a doozy. I like to make first steps after much research. I fear "doing it wrong", and like to avoid "redoing it right". So, in that vein, here's a link to grain mill comparisons that I found, some time ago Click Here For Grain Mills . My wife helps...

Hmmm, if you're thinking something "different", may I point you to a gun that Jamie made me lust after ?

NFA's New Rossi Model 92 in 454 Casull (with pics)

I swear it will be the absolute first lever gun I purchase...when I purchase a lever gun.

Something else to keep in mind... in this kind of a ZOMGWTFBBQZOMBIES scenario, those people who might be labeled as "Have-Nots" may very well look at someone carrying anything as a "Have". If that were to happen, then the perception of "Hey , that guy has something...I have Nothing..." may make the...

Pfft, Remember reading "The Road" ? I like how you use periods to end sentences, Capital letters to start them, and , Hell, you even use Quote Marks to set folks sentences apart from the narrative !!

If I may be so bold as to offer my humble opinion. This is a perfect opportunity to go somewhere safe, and light a metric crap-tonne of matches. That way the novelty wears off. Heck, again being mindful of safety, one could practice making small fires with said matches. The journey of a thousand mil...
