If you like the SOG Powerlock S62, Lowes carries them for $50. You may be able to find a BO one too (B62).

Re: multi tool advice

Well, I pick up a few more multi-tools since October. My SwissTool RS is now my heavy duty MT and my Spirit is my favorite and now my EDC MT. I like it much better than my LM Wave, Skeletool, SOG Powerlock S62, Powerlock 2.0 B69, Gerber Diesel and Compact Sport 400. http://lh4.ggpht.com/_UIvftVa71aQ...

Thick wool socks (Smartwool, Wigwam, REI, etc.) with a sock liner.

Gaiters if there will be snow. Snowshoes if it will be deep.

Re: Most effective NON-firearms against Zombies

GEEZ $5000 for a pointy stick! Don't get me wrong, I like pointy-pokey-slashy-stabby stuff as much as the next guy, but $5000! Wow! Just Wow! You mean your life is not worth $5000. :D Seriously though, it is quite pricey but not totally out of line with Warren Thomas' other offerings.

The Warren Thomas Naginata. Best to keep them as far away as possible so no stray droplets/chucks of congealed blood get on you. With this, you can lop skulls at minimum safe distance.

May I suggest the Zero Tolerance ZT0300 and the Becker BK-2? A tough combo to say the least. http://lh5.ggpht.com/_UIvftVa71aQ/SwIcpACa_7I/AAAAAAAAKtM/rYV2rSwsK64/s800/IMG_1969.JPG http://lh3.ggpht.com/_UIvftVa71aQ/SwIctJwY5YI/AAAAAAAAKpc/p-mzZxGAq48/s800/IMG_1979.JPG http://lh4.ggpht.com/_UIvftVa71...

Re: Why buy Surefire?

When your life or your mission depends on it, you will want what Surefire offers. What Surefire offers more than anything is reliability. If you absolutely need it to work, I'd turn to Surefire before any other maker. Sure they may be behind the technology curve a bit, but that is because they thoro...

Re: multi tool advice

Any truth to Tim Leatherman and his company's support for the Democratic agenda to ban guns back when Kerry was running? I read it on a couple different forums and don't know if it is true or not. Hence, the question. We have a rule here that we try to keep politics out of it. (it = this who...

Re: Anyone carry a self defense pen?

+5 on the Zebra 701. Have it and love it... as a writing tool. Should be handy in SD applications too. Tough SS pen! +3 on the SS Sharpie. Have that too. Zebra's other offerings like the 301 and 402 will do in a pinch but the 701 is definitely more stout. EDIT: I for got to mention the Parker Jotter...

I'm still debating between this one or a Kershaw Outcast for a large(ish) chopper.
