Re: Lefty Friendly Weaponry?

Good: Savage 99s are nice, but the lever safety is a pain for a lefty, I lost a deer this year because I couldn't get the safety off fast enough (needs more practice). AR15s are fine, I like mine a lot better since I got an Ambi safety. Marlin lever guns, awsome for lefties, never had any problems w...

Re: Glock 33 round magazine

I have 2 Glock 33s and the 5 Korean 33s, both work fine out my G26 and Keltec Carbine. The Glock mags are definately finished better and feel smoother, but the Korean mags have yet to fail to function. The only failure I've had with the G26 and a 33 rounder is while actually holding the mag with my ...

Re: Which Double Barrel

Also double triggers are great IF you remember to keep only one finger on the triggers. I have seen far too many people put a finger on each trigger and then create a dangerous situation when the "accidentally" pull the second due to recoil. I usually did that on purpose  I like double trigge...

Re: please recommend a revolver for post apocalypse hero.

Smith and Wesson model 66, probably with a 4 inch barrel. OR, my personal pick would be a Smith 629, or a Ruger Vaquero in 44magnum, fed a steady diet of 44 special +P wadcutter loads (brain-box specials). I like the cookie-cutter effect :D

Re: .40 cal for hunting

I shot an Iowa Whitetail deer in the back of the head at roughly 40 yards with a Glock 22, using Winchester Supreme PD ammo (180grn if I remember right). The bullet did enter the skull and kill the deer, the bullet never exited the skull (much like what a 22lr would do), result was a dead deer, but ...

Re: AK foregrip suggestions

This is what I use on my Saiga 12 http://www.botachtactical.com/tdiforegrip.html.
I've found that I like the stubby grip better than a standard size one, it clears the mag further for mag changes (rock & Lock), an issue I never thought about till I put it on the Saiga with the 8 round mags.

Re: CZ-82

Back when I had my FFL I sold several of them to my friends, many of them use them as CCW guns. They shoot REALLY well, they are reliable, have good capacity, and have ambidextrous controls.
Hard to get more bang for the buck.

Re: NY trigger spring

I carry a Glock everyday, whether at work or at play. Just put the gun in a holster that covers the trigger and ADs wont' be an issue. There was more to the NY trigger deal than just mechanics, a lot of it was political. That aside, I've had at one point or another about every combo of trigger parts...

Re: NY trigger spring

the NY 1 is an 8lb spring, the NY 2 is a 12lb spring. personally I don't like them, but they work, and they don't hurt anything. I'd try an NY1 first, but they are cheap, so you can buy both and try them. http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=23039/Product/Trigger_Spring__NY_2_Orange http://www.brownel...

I have a 99 300 savage about the same vintage as yours. Ammo is still available from the big sporting goods places (I bought some Winchester Deer ammo at Sportsmans warehouse this year). They a work of art, and WAY ahead of thier time. I love mine, I was looking for a 250-3000 but I came across the ...

Re: ZS help me pick! CETME, FAL or Saiga?

In my years as an FFL holder, I sold Cetme's to no less than 4 people, none of them worked, even using milsurp ammo. One guy was devoted, I sent his Cetme to CA 4 time before he gave up and traded it (not to me, I wouldn't touch another one) for Thompson Center Encore in 308, the rate of fire for th...

Re: Makarovs are back

I need another Bulgy Mak, I sold mine and have regretted it ever since (I have regretted very few). It was a great gun, always functioned, carries well, has adequate power, and shot like a house on fire. When I bought mine I got 6 of them for $600 as I too shoot left handed I hated the "target" grip...

In the facility I work in, assuming the booking/intake staff were incapacitated, and that the master Control staff were incapacitated, quite frankly, you are going to die a slow death by dehydration/starvation if nobody comes to rescue you. The "drunk tank"/holding cells have sliding doors, the same...

Re: Pizza Delivery gun.

For when you ABSOLUTELY can not be made as carrying (trust me, I've been there, I worked in a factory that was being slowly phased out with pink slips) look into one of these http://www.smartcarry.com/ , they are completely concealed, you can carry a decent size gun, and it is quick to draw from, wa...
