Re: Where do I put all those little things into my BOB?

The pencil bag is probably the cheapest and easiest. Since I work in IT, we often have old laptop bags come through our hands (and frequently the SAME type of laptop bag). Many of these have pouches that are useful for this. Some of the old Targus bags have removable cable pouches made of heavy nylo...

Spent some time in Longview, but never got plugged into the prepper community there, though. Good luck.

IIRC from reading similar builds, without the blade in place, don't you need a flywheel to help keep the RPMs steady?

I picked up a semi-cheap 1AA Energizer "Tactical" light at Target. 50 lumens, good battery life, $16. Good if budget is a concern.

Re: Help Me Pimp My New Cubicle

See if you can sneak an extra file cabinet into your cube... I usually manage to find one unaccounted for or not matching in a vacant cube after I've been at a new job for a couple months and quietly put it in there. You can also, depending on your cube style, pull the filing cabinets out so they're...

Re: Mom's Journal of the Zombie Years

I haven't made it to the "end" of MJOTZY yet, but I was curious about the TIMS story and tried to register at that Squirrel site. I still haven't been accepted - and my email address doesn't have "evil" or "zombiegurrl" or anything in it. Started reading TIMS at the blogspot site and the first comm...

That's pretty cool. How'd you rig the onboard air? Electric, or did you lose the AC, or something else?

Basically they want a domain that's not a free one. Anyone can get a fake hotmail, yahoo, or gmail address. Your ISP (Comcast, DSL, etc) email address is harder for trolls to replace as they get banned.

There isn't much around that I'm aware of. In Seattle there's Federal Army Navy Surplus and Surplus Too. Federal's kind of pricey for my taste. If you go down to the area around Lewis there's a fair selection of shops.

Re: "THE BUMBLE" Build. project slow go. My jeep build threa

Same thing happened in my beater Escort. Funny thing was that if I jumped the sense side of the relay the starter would crank when the ignition was on. I checked the wiring schematic and I don't see how that could have happened unless something was goofy with the aftermarket alarm in this thing. If ...

Now you have just found an a armed person who surrendered and told you he was a CCW holder. Now what would you do?: 1) Say "oh gee I am sorry here is your weapon back. Your CCW permit is all I need. You are free to go." 2) Say oh gee I am sorry lets go back to the car and discuss this. Calmly walk t...

Re: ?LEOs? - armed civilians in a "Mumbai"

I'll be honest and say that it really bothers me that the cops would treat another victim (because that's what you are if you shoot in self-defense) like a criminal. I understand all of the "officer safety" excuses, but it's still insulting.

I'd say Survival/prep. There are just too many Bushcrafting shows out there to list, and they are all rehashing same topics and techniques.
Hmm.... I don't have much to contribute then :).

As another unemployed person... File for unemployment immediately. There's a one week "waiting period" when you first file and it's better to get that out of the way ASAP. You can be on unemployment even while you have a crappy part-time job. I'm delivering pizza as I look for a real job. Consider a...

Given that I have yet to make an event I feel that I don't have any real right to contribute. I'm interested in either basic camping/skill-builders/hang-out or (relatively) hard-core/live off your back, events. WRT to d.riley's idea, this might be a place to get some ideas for a location. I've only ...

Might be worth considering Ravensdale, the outskirts of Auburn, Black Diamond, etc. Easy(ish) access to the cities, but still pretty far out there.

The sales pitch was during the lunch breaks, they would play a Front Sight video but they didn't force you to sit in the training room and watch the video. There was no selling during the training sessions themselves. Of course, if you want to be out of the sun and in the AC, then you have to sit i...

We heard at least four transformers blow in our neighborhood and were without power from about 2130 last night to 0745 this morning. I didn't see any significant tree damage, but we've got lots of pine needles everywhere.

Looking guuude! I love to see old cars restored. Thanks! You obviously haven't seen the wiring, redone by 4 different owners. Gonna be redone once and right by me, after I get done with the engine work. And the next owner is going to say, "You haven't seen the wiring, redone by 5 different owners! ...
