Re: JST M12AK, any experience?

I have one, and have run around 500 rounds through it, with no problems with high brass, and VERY FEW with low brass cheap stuff. Just turn the gas setting all the way to 3. I think it may be a little rougher on the gun, but it makes it eat. AGP arms makes good mags, Delta mags, seems like the best ...

Re: Hunting & Patrolling - (Graphic)

Scouting hunting land has ben the basis of wartime movement of scouts since the beginning of time, great thread. I will say this.....Pushing the deer after shooting it leads to it being flooded with Adrenaline, and staying on it's feet longer. If you'll let it run, it'll usually go a spell, lay down...

Re: College kids

A lot of good advice has already been given. I will add a little more which I hope will be just as valuable. Make sure the carless child has a bicycle. If they have room for it in their apartments or dormitories, the basic camping gear of hiking boots tent or tarp sleeping bag and suitable clothing...

Would it be possible to give them a cheap HAM radio and maybe a bit of practice, maybe even a HAM license?

I've tried to keep my kids nerdy, I might be able to talk them into something like this.
That's a good idea, and the engineer would probably go for it

Re: Firearms Chat: Yeet Cannon 2 Electric Boogaloo

The rise of the "sig brace" has led to a plethora of compact 9mm sub guns. H&K is just responding to the market and all the competitors who have an edge on them now. With good entry guns under $500 they are going to have trouble making any inroads. True, but I feel they are the truest poster child ...

Kukri, even the cheap machete ones are viable, and actually have some tool use...

Not to mention, anyone ever tried to swing a Melee weapon in a hallway? The extra length would get in the way. If reach is what your after, get a polearm, spear, etc

Re: 22LR in a rifle, ok for defense?

And to try to explain why some folks are becoming frustrated...... I have several hi points. They're suitable for a boat gun, or something that you're not to concerned with. And while they're not the absolute garbage some folks say, neither are they good. But at the same time, you're equating that a...

Re: 22LR in a rifle, ok for defense?

BTW, you know an AR-15 that chambers in 5.55 NATO can run .223 right? Much cheaper to practice with especially if you deal hunt. AR's are so modular, start with a complete one, replace as you go with what you want, and by the time you're done, you're almost to another gun, which you can complete and...

Re: 22LR in a rifle, ok for defense?

No offense, it kinda seems like you have Cavier tastes, and a Spam budget I'm in the same boat, but figured out a long time ago, that a budget AR, is better than no AR. Look at those Somali pirates, AK'S with rusted out dust covers beat no AK all the time. Not to mention the fact that AR's have to g...

Re: The Coming Civil War - (Warning: No Politics)

It isn't the economy necessarily. We couldn't fill the ranks in Iraq with police and military with 40% unemployment. Years of Negative publicity, idiotic and not so idiotic protests, a negative risk-reward for doing the job and no community support in high crime areas. When the economy next takes a...
