Re: On the Run / Retreat Vehicles

I can't imagine a scenario where i would need to use my car instead of jumping in with my friends in their Tacoma or Jeep. I have AWD, but the car is heavy and low slung. Then again I can maintain 100MPH for about 250 miles before having to to look for a spot to fill up. It also doesnt stick out lik...

Re: budget pack

I have Kelty Peregrine 1800 that has been my school backpack for 3 years. Only last year did I use it as a day pack for a rim, river, rim Grand Canyon hike. I stuck a 100oz Source hydration pack in the laptop sleeve, loaded the main pocket up with polypro, poncho, and food. I had water bottles in th...

Re: How often do I clean?

Everytime you shoot it? Cause its not just about removing the residue, cleaning it and putting a light coat of oil on the metal parts protects it from rust/corrosion. If its corrosive ALWAYS clean it, if you cant at the range spray ammonia into the bore and chamber to neutralize the acids and what n...

Re: What is the best combat boot?

I have a pair of Corcoran Mauraders for my uniform. They are in ABU greenish and seem to breath pretty well. I swapped out the insoles that cam with them with some from my running shoes. I'd swear by these boots. They're sooo much nicer than the issue Bates boots and far better than the all leather ...

Re: Jeep NuKizer 715 concept

Sak,
My dad had a J10 from HS until I was born. He totalled it in an ice storm in louisiana, but still has pics. Those things looked like monsters. Everytime he sees one he wants it soooo bad lol. A nice vintage J10 is about the only thing I'd ever replace my 87 silverado with.

If its a bright day I try to hit the Tacs holding my target on except for one, then the paper flops down. If I'm in the middle of the desert I bring alota friends and hit beer bottles, cheap coke cans, or I start lobbing rounds way out there with my .44 mag lever action shooting .44 special.

Re: DSA FAL or AR-15 w/ suppressor

Im biased as Ive never actually fired an AR patterned rifle without something happening. usually not even the weapons fault, it was bad magazines one time, crappy ammo the next, THEN a dirty rifle (at basic). Go for a short barreled FAL. I think they are more simple to maintain, and more robustly ma...
