Re: .410 self defense shotgun ?
Oh, good, a well thought out, reasonable recommendation of the Taurus Judge paired with a .410 shotgun as an all purpose firearm set. That's not silly and pointless at all, great advice. Thanks for taking the time to post that, and for typing your posts out so neatly and carefully. Sent from my HTC...

Re: .410 self defense shotgun ?
This thread is full of fail. OP: 12 Gauge, Recoil Reducing Stock, Stock Pad, Fiocci Low-Recoil 00 Buck or Federal Low-Recoil Slug if it must be a shotgun. Otherwise I would say either a cheap AR or maybe a Kel-Tec. I've shot PCC's with higher perceived recoil than a 12 Gauge designed to be low-recoi...

Triple Aught Design has a bunch of clothing and some gear for 15-25% off plus 10% stacked discount for military/law enforcement.
Dropped about $350 on $500 worth of gear.

I've had really good luck with the Wilson Electronics one in my truck. Bumps my signal from 1-2 ish to 4-5ish bars in the boonies. It can be picky about placement near other antennas, but it works great for me.

EMT-B and WEMT since Jun. '12, currently in 68W school and doing well. They'll offer me M6 if I pass with >90% and I'm doing well so far.

Re: ALL Purpose Magazine thread.
I actually have no idea how long those E-Lander mags have been around. Yeah, neither do I. Just idle curiosity. They're one of the few mags that seem to be blinking in and out of stock right now, they apparently haven't raised the price on them and people keep talking about them (probably for that ...

Re: the Defensive Shotgun; How we make it work--MilCopp Blog
Okay, I'm getting down to the nitty gritty of finishing off my defensive 12 Ga, and I know I'm over thinking things, here's what's left: Follower: Nylon, stainless, unobtanium? Which material do I want? If I can rely on all to feed better than stock, is stainless bright enough for me to see relyabl...

Re: Danner boots on sale - are these any good?
OP: I have that exact same pair, and I've beat them to shit over the last year. Used them on a 30-Day NOLS course this summer, and then a 28-Day WMI WEMT course, and abused them like no other. In those two months I must of put hundreds of miles on them. Wore them through streams and rivers, and then...

Re: Magpul MS3 QD
My dumb ass bought one. I need the normal version, with the clips, instead of a QD swivel. I just pulled it out of the package and realized my sleep deprived mistake. Black. I paid 50, that's what Im asking, or a trade for a standard. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I'll trade you my clip one. I...

As some of you may have been able to guess, this deal is over for anytime soon. I'm leaving for Basic/AIT January 23rd, so it's unlikley anything will be organized before then. Thanks for anyone that participated, and I'm sure you are all glad you were able to buy in with the current magazine crisis...

Re: Which pickup truck engines hold up best?
I saw the comment about fuel economy above, I found that tires made the biggest difference. I went from 21mpg with P rated tires to 17mpg with BFG A/T's Which is too bad, because the latter are great all-around on/off road tires. I'd like to find a good AT tread to replace the current street tires ...

Re: Which pickup truck engines hold up best?
I like my 318 in my Dakota. I'm the 2nd owner, and there have yet to have been any problems with the original engine @ 118K miles. I've done a top end rebuild just because I added headers, reground valves, and some other modifications, but not because it needed it. Stock form it was crappy milage, b...

Update 12/15/12
Still waiting on an ETA of any restock. My contact's company is swamped with holiday sales, so I haven't heard much as of latley. His business takes priority, as I doubt he makes anything off of what I get from him, so I'm just going to let him reply when he can.

This is the sad thing about lighting: almost no one gets to try multiple different but very good systems. http://www.hella.com/MicroSite/eliver_US-Version/index.html Yeah but the problem with simulations like that is that they lie. They all show idealized beam patterns, not what you actually get ou...

Re: So..... Red Dawn remake anyone?
Just saw this today. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I went into it treating it as it's own movie, trying not to compare it to the original and if you look at it in those terms, it is an excellent movie. It is somewhat implausible that North Korea could possibly mount any sort of invasion of the United St...

Ditto on the Hella's. Like I mentioned I decided to go LED, but if I wouldn't of had the money, I was going to go with the Hella 500 and 700. The 500 and 700 are Hella's "bottom of the barrel" economy offroad stuff. Well, the 500FF fog is actually pretty good but the 500FF Driving and 700FF Driving...
