Re: Preps for a Contested Election in November

Apparently, Walmart has removed guns and ammo from their store displays due to potential civil unrest. If there is a riot, that might make things a bit safer. I saw that news story and then I just read this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5IKbgO9qnLs&ab_channel=ABCNews Walmart will begin returni...

Re: Firearms CHAT: [insert chat title here]

Well, that was quick. They only announced pulling ammo and guns maybe a couple days ago, didn't they ? I went to the local Walmart and there was no ammo in the locked case, but there was plenty of shotgun shells on the shelves. Which made no sense. Because if they pulled the other ammo and put it in...

Re: Firearms CHAT: [insert chat title here]

Looks like SHOT 2021 has been cancelled. Maybe they can do a virtual SHOT Show instead. In other news, I've fixed the set of CZ 527 scope rings I got lucky and found in a rifle case I picked up at a yard sale. Turns out the screws I was missing are exactly the same size as on a set of Weaver Quad L...

Re: Firearms CHAT: [insert chat title here]

I'm going to guess probably not. If Uncle Sam did, I'm thinking the rifles were probably destroyed around the same time most of the Pedersen devices for the M1903 were. At least one survived. https://www.rockislandauction.com/detail/57/3025/fine-winchester-model-1895-russian-contract-musket edit to...

Then there's this today. Classic is selling markings intact Mausers. Re: Firearms CHAT: [insert chat title here]

I meant like a later civilian run, I feel like it'd be a decent seller with cheap ammo. But I guess Mosin guys aren't high end lever guys haha To my knowledge, there hasn't been any civilian models of the Model 1895 in 7.62x54r. It was pretty much a one-off run for Russia during WW1. I've been want...

Re: What have you bought in the last 48 hours?(firearms related)

Placed an order with Midway USA for a Geissele Super 42 braided buffer spring and H1 buffer along with an AR Stoner 9mm 1/2-28 muzzle brake for my PC9 as well as a crush washer just in case I need one.

Should hopefully get shipped today and be in my hands soon.

I picked up a Butler Creek sling for my Ruger PC9 today. Didn't really need one, but it was on sale and I figured why not.
If there's anything the Kenosha videos taught it's the value of a sling.
That is very true.

I'm still wishing Winchester would release some repro Russian Contract Model 1895s. I know they released some 1895s in .405 Winchester and .30-40 Krag, but I want one in 7.62x54r, damnit. Dude up here in the Arctic is selling mint 1895 in 30-06. I wish I needed one. They are cool Indeed they are, J...

New coffee mug. White with a black AK silhouette. :awesome: I don't drink coffee (haven't since 1995), but I still kind of want one of those Black Rifle Coffee Company stainless mugs they sell. It'd go well next to my Federal Premium ammo beer koozie on my shelf. Matte black or bare stainles...

Damnit, Pete...I don't need to be spending $600+tax and FFL. Nor thinking about finding a new FFL, since my usual one isn't available at work anymore. If I have learned anything about PSA, it's if they offer something on sale one week, just wait a month or 3 and they'll have it on sale again....

Well, if the objective is merely to get the perpetrator to cease the undesirable behavior that they are engaged in, even bird shot should be effective. I know that some rioters have discovered body armor but I'm not sure it's a widely available item. In any case, I doubt it covers the face. I wonde...

Someone already found a loophole in posting ads on there. Apparently, you can go back to an old ad, edit it to fit whatever you're selling now, reactivate it and you can bypass the payment thing. Whether or not it still works or if it's been patched by now is still unknown. I've also noticed that t...

Re: Preps for a Contested Election in November

12 gauge ammo is one of the few ammos the stores in my AO are full of. I did a quick check at Academy last week and they were stocked pretty well on 12 gauge ammo. Not sure if it was just birdshot or buckshot, though. May have just been birdshot. They also had some 16 and 28 gauge shells too. My gu...

Has anyone heard from Wee?
I'm friends with her on Facebook, but I think she may be busy with her farm right now. Between the time differences and the fact she may be busy with farm life, I avoiding sending her a message since I don't want to bother her.

Well, I got the voting part checked off this morning. It was all calm and safe, no protesters (thank God). 12ga ammo is nearly impossible to find in my area right now and stores are limiting purchases to 5 boxes when they do have it. Sheesh. We topped off on food and other supplies this weekend. 12...
