Re: Anyone own a PCC?
My Masterpiece Arms MPA 71, very well made, 100% reliable, 9mm using Soumi Drums. http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z271/reloader1959/rifles/mpa71range.jpg My brother owns one of the 9mm PCC in the original post...works great and is accurate. Re: Shotgunners: Wax slugs for zombie defense.
Of course the hogs head had already been shot repeatedly before being shot with the wax slug...kinda makes the data B.S. in my opinion. Also at the range they where shooting at a regular shotshell would create the same type of rathole wound. In addition the folds on a shotgun shell do much more than...

3/10ths of an inch bigger than the Kel Tec PF9 in height, length, and width. Same style sights, about the same weight. If I didn't already own a PF-9 I would give this S&W serious consideration.

Re: Full size 9mm Recommendations
Along a completely different line have you considered a wide body 1911 in 9mm? An STI Tactical 4.0 would give you a Commander sized pistol with a 17+1 capacity with standard magazines or up tp 26+1 with extended mags.

Re: Kel Tec P11 9 mm
Mine has run flawlessly since day one and has been dry fired and shot enough the trigger feels like a well tuned J-Frame trigger. It is closing in on about 3000 rounds of 9mm and probably 5000+ rounds of .22. The 22 conversion is a great addition...accurate, fun, and makes for a great woods gun...mi...

Re: M1 .30 Carbine with red dot sights
I did an old school conversion on my carbine...the longer stock fits me much better and the scope is a 2.5X El Paso Weaver with post and crosshair. Handles great and the low power scope is perfect for CQC as well as reaching out several hundred yards. http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z271/reloader...

Re: Mossberg MVP Range Report
To answer a question above...it does not come with iron sights... Went out yesterday...tried the PRVI 62 grain in the MVP. Managed a couple group hovering around an inch but with the wind gusting to over 40 mph as it came over the berm I don't think it was as good as the rifle or ammo will shoot. De...

I am still old school here, buy my Red Dot by the keg. There may be cleaner burning powders out there but Red Dot is so reliably consistent it is what I always ended up coming back to.

Re: Mossberg MVP Range Report
I think the 300 Whisper would be fine in a bolt gun, be even quieter than my AR in 300 Whisper because of the locked action. I had though about having JD do an integral suppressor on one of these but I own a Ar in 300 Whisper and a Ruger 77 in .308 with a can for it as well....so this rifle will sta...

Mossberg MVP Range Report
Had time today before a shooting competition to finally try out the MPV. Sadly I had only one type of ammo with me and it wasn't the best suited for the twist rate. I had 20 rounds of Black Hills 68gr JHP (I grabbed the .308 range box by mistake) Fortunately it was enough to get the scope close and ...

2. This actually an easy DIY mod if you have any skills at all, 3. with a riser you can use any eye relief scope you want 4. I have ones the don't require modded forends as you can see with my shorty... http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z271/reloader1959/range%20day/shorty.jpg 5. That can be said o...

Mossberg MVP
My dealer called me to let me know the Mossberg MVP I had on order since last summer is finally going to show up. To me this will make for a great rifle with many features I like, most noticeably it uses AR magazines and is chambered for 5.56 and will handle the .223 as well. Other things I like inc...

Re: What to do with an AR carry handle upper?
There are about a dozen reasons to not do that and I can think of one that makes it a good idea. What are the reasons? Evidently this is a good enough design to be made commercially made and is indeed available as a factory unit. The irons can't be removed...big deal. They also cannot be knocked of...

The can on my 300 Whisper is closer to 12 inches...has never seemed overly front heavy or awkward to me despite being a longer barrel...shoots great too... http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z271/reloader1959/rifles/whisper1.jpg http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z271/reloader1959/rifles/whisper2.jpg

Shave it...you will end up with a flat top that has the best iron sights, it will co-witness with a dot or a scope work with a 1/2inch riser...best of all worlds... http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z271/reloader1959/rifles/coltscopemount.jpg http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z271/reloader1959/hak...

Re: Shotgun barrel question.
I'm guessing the loophole concerning a pistol grip firearm that shoots a shotshell came about because of the Tarus Judge. The ATF had to rule that it's not a SBS even though the barrel is less than 18". Heck they are even making 410 derringers now. They've been making those for a good while now. He...

Re: Ruger 10/22 Essentials
Three things I thing really do improve the Ruger 10/22 1. Extended mag release, the factory can be somewhat of a pain, especially when in a hurry. 2. Auto bolt release, much easier than fumbling with that small bolt release. 3. Trigger...a nice trigger will go far to help your performance shooting t...

Re: Glock modifications
My semi stock 19 is a 100% great shooting gun, only mod is it has the original NY trigger spring in it, not the one you these days. It has a great trigger and is accurate and reliable. However my much more modified Model 17 competition gun has a trigger that feels very much like a 1911 with very lit...
